Help with Meta tuning FH6.

I've been leaning tuning and I can create tunes that "feel" great to drive but are ultimately off the pace. Ive been using tuning guides etc but im assuming the physics engine doesnt line up well with reality it would seem.

The result being that I can spend hours setting up a car do a silly amount of laps but ultimately download someone's tune and go faster on my 2nd lap attempt with a weird max front ride height lowest ride height build. But thats all I can see visually.

I want to know how to build out these extremes then fine tune to my liking. Plus add nice rims LOL.

Can anyone spell out what these tunes are doing. Im assuming with the ride heights being different the damping and what not needs to be heavily adjusted too I just can't figure out what works.

S1 RWD GT350R (Legends Island - 1:17.9)

Hey all, another RWD tune to share. Saw a guy in my lobby with an insane GT350R so this is my attempt at recreating it. Spent a good 2 days on this one, figured AWD turbo would be best but this set up proved otherwise. Hit a 1:17.9 on Legends Island so is a bit quicker than the ZR1 I shared yesterday. Insane power with little weight = a monster (just be careful out of turns or you will lose significant traction).

This may be my proudest tune yet.

AWD swaps are becoming the default for competitive builds

I’ve put up a suggestion on the FH6 Feedback Hub regarding drivetrain swaps, particularly AWD conversions.

I know similar discussions may have already been posted here before, so apologies if I’m beating a dead horse. But looking through community/meta tunes, it’s hard not to notice how often AWD becomes the default regardless of the car’s original drivetrain.

The suggestion is basically to either limit drivetrain swaps to more realistically attainable conversions or make them significantly more expensive/impactful, so choosing AWD actually feels like a build decision rather than an automatic performance upgrade.

If you agree with the idea, give the suggestion a vote on the Feedback Hub. More importantly, feel free to add your own thoughts there too.

S1 ZR1 RWD - Legends Island/Online/Race

Hey all, got a new tune for the week! This one is focused on lightweight RWD power. I got this tune down to a 1:18.8 on Legends Island which is my best RWD car time yet. Probably some room to gain extra time in here somewhere. I spent about 5 hours on this one, going through all sorts of combinations and found this to be the quickest set up. Hope you enjoy, feedback always welcome.

Ferrari 250 GTO drift project

So I was burning through wheelspins and got the 250 GTO. I immediately had the thought of making Enzo Ferrari roll in his grave. We started with swapping the beautiful stock engine and it was all downhill from there. Drift tuned. Painted pearl. I’d like to think Enzo would weep at the finish product.

All that said, I like it a lot and want some feedback on the tuning. It’s scored 355k uphill, 352k downhill, at Hakone Nanamagiri. I just want to know where it needs to be improved, average scores at people’s favorite drift zones, maybe just a few downloads to work on my tuner rank.

Tuning code: 175 651 449

I only drift in manual so I’m sorry if you’re an automatic driver. Maybe give this one a pass. It lives in 3rd gear and really needs the ability to control your gearing between 3rd and 4th. You can more or less skip 1st and 2nd gear after launch. Sometimes I don’t even bother and just initiate a drift from a stop in 3rd with an ebrake tap and liberal use of the throttle.

At the end of the day, this is a passion project, so feedback is appreciated. I am by no means a top tier drifter but I like to think I can tune a car to give me the best advantage.

Nitty gritty:
RWD
Engine swap: 4.5L V8 (naturally aspirated)
Full race upgrades where applicable (engine, brakes, roll bars, etc)
Drift transmission, springs, diff, and tire compound.
Tire widths front/rear: 225mm/275mm

Attempt at a competitive A class dirt/rally tune (Subaru legacy)

FORZA HORIZON 6

I’m not new to racing games but I’m new to min/maxing and tuning in racing games. I’ve always used someone else’s but for the past 2 weeks I’ve spent a lot of time self tuning and testing and I’ve came a long way and am sure I have a long way to go.
I know these builds don’t always have rear aero. But for me it’s really helpful to add that handling to this built but I’m open to taking it off and it can be tweaked to not need it.

I’d love for someone to try this tune out and give feedback. It’s a 1990 Subaru Legacy and I’ve been able to win online races if I don’t mess up a single turn.

Weird spring behavior in fh6

I made some tuning experiments to find out why my 787b seems to have a really low top speed. I dont have the exact values for my normal tune, but important values were the typical 1 65 arb, softer front springs than rear, 6 front 12 rear for rebound 3 front 6 rear for bump damping. The only variable here is the spring stiffness and ride height.

For some reason, when i set the front springs to be stiffer, the top speed increases up until max spring stiffness. The same goes with front ride height, where higher means faster.

For the rear, it was the complete opposite. The softer and lower i go, the faster the top speed was.

These extreme values added roughly more than 10kmh in my top speed. No aero difference, just purely adjusting the springs.

I thought it was a bug and the simulations in the tuning menu was just presenting inaccurate numbers, so i tested it out, and it was accurate. I had a 10kmh additional top speed when i was using the stiff and high front and soft and low rear setup. The turning characteristics changed, but was not exactly bad. In fact, the turning radius was almost unchanged, and surprisingly, I experienced almost no excess understeer at all. The car still rotated properly, and was actually more responsive, at least that’s how it felt for me.

I want to know why this happens. It seems like it’s not a bottoming out issue with normal suspension set ups because 1. Telemetry doesnt show bottoming out when I tested the normal setup, and 2. If it was really the problem, the extreme setup should have extreme bottoming out of the rear.

This was also not exclusive to the 787b. I tested the setup with my sesto. Same results. I even got better lap times, even being 1 second faster in some tracks. I got consistent 1:00s in legend island circuit when getting below 1:01 was very rare in my past setups. Same with ito sprint where i got a 1:57 when i was only able to get 1:58s before.

TLDR: Stiff and high front springs and Soft and low rear springs significantly increase top speed. I want to know why.

Issues with Lambo Sesto Group X Tune

Seems like no matter what I do, its hard to keep the car planted. Even going around corners at moderate speeds the rear rotates out and it slides to the outside.

Ive tried tuning in more understeer but not getting any progress. Any thoughts or tips?

It just seems slow and slippery around corners compared to other similar X tune cars I have. Almost like its on ice skates.

Im running slicks and often switch up to semi slicks in the rain.

Im not asking for a tune, but just maybe a better way to approach tuning this myself. Ive been reading several guides.

Ive tried dialing in more camber, softening the rear ARBs, maybe Im missing a concept in my tuning approach?

S1 - Lamborghini Aventador SVJ

I've put my attempt together for a Huracan STO beating Aventador. Mostly sharing so others can utilize this tune for themselves, but also open to feedback. It fits my driving style but may not fit others.

I put together a 1:16.8 on Legends Island and a 50.5 on Hoboku with this tune. Looking to take it online S1 and see how it performs.

Spent the last week fine-tuning this one, probably 10-12 hours in it so far.
