Fred Meyer Senior disounts

What a farce. I can see excluding alcohol, cigarettes, even soda pop, candy, or household items. But no meat or produce that requires weighing? No name brands? And pharmaceutical prescriptions I can understand even though I don't agree, but it doesn't even allow for aspirin or cold medicine OTC. Not only does their digital couponing infuriate people, especially those on a fixed income who may not have all the technology that uses "apps", but to deny a senior citizen the ability to buy basic foods at a discount because they're a "name brand"? But these discounts entice seniors into their stores, believing they're "valued customers", and being helped with this little 10% on the first Tuesday of each month. Imagine that, one entire day a month they can save a little extra.

Contacting corporate does zero good, they don't care. Took my elderly neighbor shopping for food, actual food like canned goods, dry pasta and rice, fresh fruits and veggies, very little meat, some frozen light meals, toilet paper and juices, etc...spent nearly $170 to stock up and make additional freezer meals, and they saved a total of $2.89 with their senior discount, and this is after we got all their silly digital coupons downloaded. As a senior who has spent decades knowing what brands they like, why should they be forced to take a store brand that they know they don't like, and who decides having a pound of fresh apples can't be discounted, but buying the 3 lb bag that is all bruised and inferior is allowed? Freddy's fail again.
