Hey I’m Leonardo UK born and raised with Mexican genes lol
I’m 19 not sure what else to say anyone wanna chat?
I'm 15 and just finished my first 10-minute documentary. Here's what I learned.
I recently finished Friday Night North, a documentary about youth culture and the spaces teenagers create for themselves in the North East of England.
I shot it on a phone, organised the contributors myself, conducted the interviews and edited the final film.
The project started as a much smaller idea and changed significantly after people began sending me their own stories.
The finished film is here:

I'd genuinely appreciate constructive feedback from other filmmakers, especially on the directing, editing and documentary structure.
What would you have done differently?
I'm hoping to keep making documentaries and narrative films, so criticism is very welcome.
I’m smitten but I suspect he’s straight 😭
Curious what everyone’s take is on this situation with me (17M) and this boy (16M)
I’ll call him E. So, for context, E and I met about 4 years ago at the wedding of my auntie and his much older cousin.
At the wedding we were introduced by my Auntie and his cousin’s mum who were sure that we’d get along really well. We got sat together at the wedding reception and did end up getting on incredibly well. We’re really close in age (he’s just done his GCSE’s and I’ve just finished year 12).
We spent most of the night playing connect 4 and it was honestly really fun :)
Fast forward to a year later, we meet again at his cousin’s 30th birthday gathering and it’s like no time has passed. We have a good time hanging out and get on really well still. When the gathering is almost over, he gives me his Snapchat so we can actually keep in touch.
Since then, over the last 3 years, we have indeed kept in touch and messaged every day. We’ve got into the habit of sending good morning texts to each other. It’s always along the lines of “good morning, have a great day.” and this has gone on for 3 years.
At first, I wasn’t sure if because I started the texts he just kind of went along with it to be nice but I’m pretty sure now that he genuinely enjoys messaging me (he even sends them first some of the time)
Anyway, literally today, after not seeing each other in person for like 3 years, we had arranged to meet up in person in London which is like a good rendezvous point as it’s in between where we both live.
When I got there and he found me at the train station we were at, he hugged me straight away and made it really clear he was so happy to see me. We chatted for a bit at the station just catching up.
Then, we went for pizza at this really nice restaurant I booked a reservation at to mark the occasion. He was so cute making a right mess of cutting his pizza and I made a total mess of mine too 🤭 He said thank you for bringing him here so many times honestly.
Then, we just literally walked down the south bank for ages and went to this cool little market. We took this lovely photo on this bridge and he wasn’t afraid to lean close to me.
We talked about basically everything from GCSE’s and sixth form to how’s the family. That’s my favourite thing about him: he’s so kind and easy to talk to and handsome and mature (sorry that’s way more than one thing)
After giving so much advice on this sub to other people, I knew I had to do something. So, though I was nowhere near brave enough to come out to him or ask him outright if he was straight, I managed to steer the convo to school relationships and asked him if he’d ever been in a relationship, he said he was sort of in one last summer but it didn’t work out (didn’t say gender but I honestly just get this feeling it might’ve been a girl) I’d say he’s kind of a pretty boy but then again that might just be my personal bias idk. He’s certainly more mature than the average pretty boy.
The only other slight indication I might’ve picked up on he wouldn’t be interested is I thought at one point he might’ve referred to me as his family 😅😭However, I was so engrossed in the convo with him at that point it would’ve been so easy to misunderstand him cause we were talking about our families too.
Anyway, when we finally parted ways he hugged me again and told me we really should meet up again soon and stay more in contact than we have which I’d suggested earlier, he thanked me again and I got another thank you via Snapchat a few minutes after he’d got on his train.
So yeah, as I sit on my train with my head in the clouds staring at the selfie we took (not in a creepy way of course) I thought I just had to get all that out.
Off topic, he mentioned that he wish he had a watch so he didn’t have to check his phone for the time as we both compulsively keep track of the time so I’m thinking I might buy him a cheap watch either to give to him next time I see him or his next birthday.
As I also said, I just get the vibe he’s straight in some ways for some reason but really can’t be sure and don’t have a super, indisputable basis for this so it’s kind of torture.
But yeah he’s the nicest guy and we have so much in common but knowing my luck, I’m just thinking he has to be straight 😭
If anyone read to the end, I hope my peril entertained you :)
