Plant Suggestions Needed, Georgia Zone 8

I’ve tried so many things here. Cardinal flower, sword fern, violets, zinnias, steffi gaura, even a rose. The rose actually was doing fine until it got rose slugs. Nonetheless this spot gets very little sun in the winter, & is shaded for most of the day in the summer too except for about 3-6pm when it gets intense, direct sun. And it’s downhill from my garden beds & an elevated backyard so it can get pretty moist for quite awhile.

So far the only thing that’s been able to last are these obedient plants & the rose that went in last August, one volunteer violet plant nestled underneath them, & the nandina in the corner (half was taken out yesterday the other tomorrow). It does get weeds but mostly tree saplings. Grasses like mondo & stilt grass don’t spread here like they do elsewhere, even bindweed or something like it hasn’t popped up & I fight that everywhere else.

Any suggestions? At this point I don’t care about the height, bloom time, perennial or not etc just as many native suggestions that might actually survive!
