I made a LED lamp out of old Prusa filament spools and some 3D-printed parts

The lamp has 12 strips of 18 LEDs in series, each strip in a circular pattern around an old filament spool. The diffusor and other structural parts are 3D printed. It’s all held together by a 8mm threaded rod. The LEDs are controlled by a Gledopto controller. The 30W PSU and the controller sit in the bottom of the lamp.

How to update GL-C-211WL without disassembling?

I just bought a new Gledopto GL-C-211WL controller, but it has outdated firmware 0.15.4

Home Assistant immediately suggested updating the firmware to the current version 16.0.1, but it is impossible to do this normally:

Error during service call to update.install: Invalid response from WLED API: Requested firmware file GLEDOPTO_16.0.1_ESP32.bin does not exist

I know about the official web-flasher from Gledopto and GL-C-211WL is present in the flasher. But how to do this without disassembling the controller, because this controller does not have an available USB interface?

I wonder why Gledopto does not provide binary versions of firmware.

So how can I update GL-C-211WL to version 16.0.x without jumping through hoops?

My entire setup stopped working after months

A few months ago I made a setup for my study. Nothing too fancy as I don't know squat about electricity. Had 5m of WS2811 24V strip, connected with 2,5m of 20awg wire (also from BTF) and the Gledopto WLED controller in the pic.

Everything worked fine for about 3 months, always used it at about 20% brightness. I then decided to add a second strip, exactly the same one, to the GPIO2 port, which also worked fine for 2 days, except I could not control it via GPIO2 in WLED; I had to use segments. No clue why but it was fine.

Then today I just touched the controller to move it aside a bit, like I sometimes do, and all the LEDs started flickering random colors. I thought it was a connection issue so I took the wires out of the controller, put them back in and now the LEDs don't react at all anymore. Can't turn them on, though WLED seems to think the controller works fine.

So I tried to connect another small piece of strip with a wire-to-strip connector to the controller but that doesn't do anything either. Please I'm too dumb to figure this out on my own. Everything worked fine for months.
