HELP me find early Goldfrapp daytime TV performance!

I'm desperately trying to find the first ever performance I saw of Goldfrapp on TV.

Set the scene. Mid 2000s probably 2003-2005, in my twenties, I'm watching TV (background). It was live from some event in the summer on daytime TV, probably a Saturday. Suddenly I'm aware of this act performing on a tiny stage at the side of the event. I didn't know who it was but she was COOL and a bit of a clash to the daytime feel and it made my head turn.

Some key details I remember, they could be inaccurate/ skewed but this is what my memory is telling me:

  • It was in the UK.
  • At an event, and Goldfrapp performing was not the main focus; it was just a small moment in that show.
  • I think it was a one-song performance of either Strict Machine or Oh La La - ChatGPT seems to think the likely tone is Strict Machine based on this info.
  • It was before they were really famous (I'd heard some of the Felt Mountain tracks but hadn't connected them to Alison visually). I remember thinking the stage was kind of pathetic! It was probably because they were up and coming.
  • I think she was wearing black but definitely had blonde hair, but I've seen hundreds of Goldfrapp performances live and on TV so could be merging them!
  • It was broadcast on daytime TV, likely something like This Morning (ITV) or CD: UK or part of some youth summer roadshow event.
  • The stage was very small, most likely less than 10m wide but could be as small as 5m.
  • There may have been a lake or water behind the stage. I have a memory of the stage being up against a fence line similar to along the lake edge at Thorpe Park or perhaps on the beach area at Thorpe Park.
  • I seem to remember straw bales, but I could be getting confused with reeds behind the stage if there was a lake, but it had an "in nature" feel.
  • I seem to remember their performance being the music act for that show, or a cutaway from the main focus. I don't think it was purely a show of music, but that could be wrong.
  • I don't remember if there was another bigger stage in other bits of the broadcast as I only really have an image of the Goldfrapp performance on this tiny stage. I say "their" but I think it was just Alison on stage, not Will.
  • I remember people at the event walking around, not really being focussed on her performance, like they were at the event for another reason OR didn't know who she was perhaps because they were teens or not the exact demographic.
  • I seem to remember thinking the event or setting was a bit weird for them to be performing at - like they were a bit out of place.
  • It could have been somewhere like Thorpe Park or another music-unrelated place.
  • I remember this being the first time I saw Alison Goldfrapp (even though I knew their music from Felt Mountain from listening to Ibiza/Chill compilations). I was watching TV, and the small stage performance started, and the broadcast moved to that stage almost like it was a cutaway from something else that was the main focus. I thought she was really cool, and it turned my head, and that is how I got into Goldfrapp!

I've searched YouTube, Google, and AI but can't find anything that matches my memory. All the performances are on much bigger stages and in a more typical concert or summer ball kind of venue.

Chat GPT says "I now strongly suspect one of these formats: CD:UK summer roadshow, Ministry of Mayhem, SMTV Live late-era outdoor special, This Morning summer special, T4 outdoor event segment".

Does anyone else have a memory of this or am I BONKERS?!

Predictions for a New Album

I have seen a few recent posts regarding Alison and Will in the studio together, nothing conveyed through the posts regarding a new album. But! seeing Alison's post 'La de do de do doo' for which she is singing an exercise of notes for me put the prediction into actuality. I feel like that sort of progression and logic fits perfectly with the duo making music together. Fingers crossed for another album : )

Big Black Cloud, Little White Lie appreciation post

Alison using it as the audio for her latest post prompted me to listen to the song again in full for the first time in a while, and it's suddenly amazing to me. I definitely get some Felt Mountain vibes from it mixed with Seventh Tree, if it leaned more into its darker aspects. So atmospheric and her whispery vocals are perfect for its ethereal and slightly creepy vibe.
