Adjust Suggested 3rd set weight when unable to complete 2nd set

Just an observation: when I am unable to get to complete the suggested reps on a 2nd set, the third set suggestion does not auto adjust. For example in the image it would be impossible for me to do 9 reps of 40 when I only managed to do 6 sets of 35 the previous set.

Feature reversion request (plate calc’)

I definitely appreciate the new method the plate calculator uses to try to reduce the work of deloading/reloading plates between sets but for me personally I feel like this is a feature that sounds good on paper and sucks in practice. At least it does for me. I think it would be nice to have a choice between two different methods.

For instance I had barbell presses on my routine today. Love it. Start at just 75 lbs. for the warmup I think I had 55lbs so the barbell plus 5lbs on each side.

At 75 lbs, the plate calc calls for 1x10, 1x5 if I’m remembering correctly. Perfect

Next set, is 80 lbs, or 1x10, 1x5, 1x2.5

Next set is 85 lbs. the old plate calculator would have said 2X10. The new calculator says 1x10, 1x5, 2x2.5.

I mean…I get what it’s trying to do here but this is a very minor example of how it’s just kinda silly. I’m just gonna remove the smaller plates and go with two 10s. In this specific scenario I would have had to walk like 20 feet away to grab another pair of 2.5s and then I wold have had to return them to the machine I borrowed them from so it’s not really saving me any effort.

Again, I see how this would look really good on paper, but in practice sometimes it’s just weirdly redundant or just silly. I think for some people this might be hugely useful but in my case, I just think it makes the calculations look redundant and useless. So it would be awesome if I could just revert the plate calculator to the old calculation method. Like, if there could be a choice between the two, I think that would be great.

Garmin Watch Integration

When I use the Garmin watch app, Gravl doesn't push over any of my reps/sets to Garmin connect. Is this a bug or is this normal?

Pet peeve

I've connected my watch to the app and i think it reports every random walking/running session, inflating the "quads sets" number.

1.51 bug - plate count

Super excited to be able to set the qty of plates I have available. Got that setup this morning. But in my workout, the plate calculator got stuck when going up in weight.

It started me off with 32.5 pounds per side - using a 25 pound plate, a 5 pound plate, and two 2.5 pound plates. The next set wanted me at to 37.5 pounds per side. But the plate calculator tried to add on 2.5 lb plates (that I don’t have) and it thought I couldn’t use the suggested weight. However, if it had instead used my 35 lb plates then I could’ve used my 2.5 lb plates and hit the target weight easily.

So the calculator seems to get stuck using what’s already on the bar instead of recalculating based on the total available plates. This happened on multiple exercises so it doesn’t seem to be an exercise specific issue.

Happy to share more info or screenshots if it’ll help you find & fix the issue.

Resetting Workout !!!

Almost threw my phone across the f'n gym this morning!!!

Spent 5 minutes or more in car before entering gym rearranging and setting up workout just to have it be a blank screen and reset completely to a different workout when I got to the first spot in the gym. This is 3 workous in a row and it just started doing this.

Enough to make me not subscribe anymore!!!

iOS 27 beta watch issues

My watch and phone are no longer synced up fully. When I hit start workout on my watch, nothing happens on my phone, but when I send the workout from my phone to my watch, it updates my watch. During the workout, when I log sets on the phone, it updates the watch. So there’s some communication happening, but they’re not on the same workout time or break time or anything like that. Not sure if this is just a beta issue or if others are experiencing sync issues with their watch?

Straight Sets No Longer Straight Since Update

What’s going on here? Since 1.49 (I think), I get these weird straight sets. Not to mention, I don’t even have 3 in my selected rep ranges. I think my lowest range is 5-8.

I’ve seen some people ask similar questions, but I don’t see any actual answers. I asked support. They said the progression was “expected behavior.” But in my opinion, this would be a significant enough of a change for the developers to explain it in an article or something.

Support also told me they would look into the app suggesting reps outside of my selected ranges, but it’s been like two weeks and now my question has disappeared.

I would appreciate some direction.

Are they going to add any more levels after Olympic?

I feel like there should be a couple more levels after you reach 300+ so there’s something more to work toward.

Why does the app keep undoing my training session when..,

I always make edits to my training session before starting. Twice now in the past week, the app has suddenly undone the changes I made and reverted back to its preplanned training session. I don’t want that! I have my own goals. This is a recent change and it’s very frustrating.

Strength scores only for freeweights?

I've noticed the strength scores only include exercises that use either barbell or dumbells. Most of what I have access to is cable and smith.

Any plans to include other equipment exercises into the strength scoring system (like cable equipment or smith machine)?

Weekly plan changes

Anyone else notice when they do a weekly workout out of order that it messes up the weekly plan as a whole. For example, I'm following a push-pull-legs-upper body plan. This week I changed a workout and now my leg workout is gone for the week. It defaulted to pull-upper body-upper body-push.

Any one getting extreme increases in weight recommendations?

Previously, I've had a long standing bench pr of 100kgx1, and the app then suggested I do 110x3.

Similarly, I hit a recent pr of 40kg on dumbbell bench press for a range of reps, but next session, the app suggested I go up to 50kg for 4 reps.

Aren't these guide big jumps in weight?
