There's no way BOTH bridges are at a standstill, are you KIDDING me!?!?

If you like my map, you might enjoy The Canada Intercity Transport Map. It was a useful reference in making this map.
Reminder, the closure (Inbound only) might remain entirely for the duration of the project (around 1.5 years). Enjoy your Monday.

Tldr,
Detour start in the week of Aug. 17.
Bayers Road Inbound (East Side) will be closed.
The detour is expected to remain in place throughout the project.
I see at least an accident a day, maybe 3-4 a week in Halifax. It's only increasing. Where are all the defensive drivers? Or the good driving schools, not just pop-up shop ones where you pay a fee and suddenly you're a driving instructor/driving school. I mean it genuinely. I'm a defensive driver, I look over my shoulder. That doesn't seem to exist anymore. People don't shoulder check, or really pay attention or even look when merging into a lane or even at a stop-sign, too busy on their phones. If you look around, the amount of humans with their eyes not on the road? It's terrifying. I was rear-ended back in 2020 because this kid confessed, oh I was texting. I was parked waiting to turn left, and it was at the bottom of baker drive. That road is huge, and he hit me square on at 60km an hour. I have irreparable damage to my body and yes I'm alive, but the driving has just gotten worse since. Get off your phone, and pay attention. You're driving a vehicle of mass destruction and can seriously hurt someone. I cannot be the only one. It's Monday and enroute to work I had 5-almosts because people do NOT pay attention. I need a louder horn. Maybe one that sounds like a train, maybe people would pay attention if they shit their pants over a horn..
They are tearing up the private road/driveway access to customer parking off of Quingate/Quinpool. Not sure if it is just paving or some underground work is happening.
I did not see any signs saying it was closed, nor did the two cars in front of me. Easy to turn around and go around to Monastery Lane, just a bit annoying.
EDIT I did not see if the sidewalk remains open there.... happy to update if someone can confirm.
UPDATE - sidewalk is open, no worries there (thanks u/Dravian31)
UPDATE 2 - It's reopened as a temporary single lane gravel drive. (thanks u/goosenarggh)
UPDATE 3 - closed when I biked by this morning, wild ass guess is it will be closed during the day while they do the work, open in the evening, we shall see!
>Police have confirmed there is no ongoing threat on Thomas Raddall Dr. near the Canada Games Centre. There will continue to be a small police presence in the area as the investigation continues. The downtown closure remains in effect per the map below (no update).
If you just encountered the driver who pulled a u turn on highway 118 heading south and started driving northbound, it has been reported to 911. If you have dashcam footage the police might be interested.
Back to 30 minute service. Posting as a PSA for anyone, like me, turning up expecting the 815 ferry to be here and now waiting almost half an hour.
