With the show returning to Netflix US, I just completed another rewatch and am once again in the post-rewatch blues. I’m not new to fanfiction but I have never read any post-fall ones. Does anyone have any recommendations on where to start? Definitely looking for something that sticks closest to what could have happened if the showed continued!
Hello! I’m looking for a fic I read on AO3, it was somewhere between 2,000 and 20,000 words.
Basically Will tells Hannibal that he’s empty or nothing (something like that), I think Hannibal then try’s to reassure him. So Will cuts himself to show Hannibal that he’s literally empty, like there’s nothing inside him (I don’t remember exactly how it’s described). A bit later in the fic Hannibal starts killing people to give Will their organs, Hannibal puts them inside Will to make him whole.

i remember it was a hannigram soulmate AU where will and hannibal were not soulmates but i think they chose each other anyway, and i vividly remember this scene where hannibal does actually meet his own soulmate, in an alley or something, and they lock eyes and both of them feel this rising euphoria as the soulbond begins to activate, and hannibal steps closer to the other man and then absolutely murders him, because he only wants will and refuses to accept this other dude as his soulmate.

I just finished it and I’m blown away. It’s in character, the plot feels authentic as hell, their reactions, their dynamic. It’s remarkable. I consumed it in one day and it’s now one of my favorites.
Summary*:*
Shortly after Will kills Garret Jacob Hobbs, he and Hannibal stumble into a D/s relationship. It's a relief to have Hannibal telling him what to do, but the closer they become, the closer he gets to realizing who and what Hannibal really is.

The idea: Brian Zeller starts having nightmares aka the memories of Mischa resurface. After a few weeks he remembers his former life completely, including his older brother.
The routes I can't decide to take are:
Gothic drama route:
2 years after the cliff fall.
The nightmares turn into some sort of curse or psychological issue because he starts choking himself in his sleep. He has to confront the past and travels to Lithuania. Chiyoh tells Hannibal about the stranger who was trespassing and wept on his family's graves and the bruises on his throat. Will and Hannibal get curious...

Brian's perception and awareness changes through the memories and he starts seeing the contradictions in the evidence that show Will as the Copycat killer. He takes Beverly's place and asks for help and works with Will and Will's lawyer on a ruthless strategy to dismantle the FBI and get Will out.
The fun part: Brian (or Mischa) only remembers the big brother who hid his true nature and is even more blind then Alana towards Hannibal.
It's peak comedy when Brian is soooo proud of the protective, older brother who became a kind and respectable and caring psychiatrist who is so incredibly forgiving, he even forgave his friend (Will) who sent a murderer (Matthew Brown) after him during a neurological health crisis (encephalitis)...🙏🥺😂

Season 2 canon divergence version 2
It starts like the above with the resurfacing of the memories and Brian asking Will for help instead of Bev. So he investigates Hannibal's home like Bev did and...kills Abigail when she tries to attack him.
From then on it's a downward spiral of broken dreams for Hannibal, who tries to find Abigail's murder, guilt and self destruction for Brian and Will who plays a cat and mouse game with Hannibal and is deeply unsettled by Brian's devotion to prove his innocence.

I’m deep in Hannibal obsession and I’ve been devouring fics like nobody’s business. I even got like, 65 chapters into Paragon before I couldn’t take it anymore (there’s only so many times one can read the same sex descriptions over and over before it gets grating. If I ever see the phrase ‘reactionary tears’ again it’ll be too soon) which I think I deserve a god damn Purple Heart for. Anyway, I’ve been looking for a long-ish to long, IN CHARACTER, exploration of their relationship type fic that i can get fully immersed in and stay until the end. That said, i’m a little scared of Herringbone bc 1. Length and 2. The capacity for sheer emotional devastation. Is it worth it? Does it hurt just enough without being torturous? Do they eventually fuck crazy style? (I mean, I’m here for the drama but I’m also just a girl. What do u want from me.)
For reference on what I like, I love everything everything Emungere wrote (especially blackbird, god I wish it were longer). I liked the obsessive tinge of Paragon and the exploration of will’s monster, so to speak, until the sex was too gratuitous. I just stopped reading Pattern Break mid way because once the tension resolved it lost its charm. I can’t bear to finish The Shape of Me Will Always be You even though I loved it because I can’t tell if it’s gonna be a happy ending or not (lol). So……herringbone? Yes or no?

I’ve already read most of the popular/classic ones, so I’m really looking for hidden gems or underrated recs!
Here’s what I’m after:
- Setting: Canon-compliant (Post-Fall or S3 vibes preferred)
- Pacing: Somewhere in the middle. Not an insanely slow burn, but not super rushed either. Just a plot that hooks you right from chapter 1.
- Length: Anything works! Either medium-length multi-chapter fics or a bunch of shorter ones so I can swap between them during the trip.
- Vibe & Tropes:
I want an emotional rollercoaster,fics that will ruin me and make me feel everything (positive and negative), but also give me insane butterflies when they get soft!
Intense protection/possessiveness over each other, genuine care, post-fall caretaking (Hannibal taking care of Will after the drop is top tier), jealousy, and a really good first kiss.

A few years ago i read a multichaptered Hannigram fanfiction that i can't find again for the life of me! I'm scouring my bookmarks, but there is a LOT of them.
Details I remember:
It was Hannigram. It was also pretty Alana bashing, which I'm not super into, but the plot was good enough to look past it.
It was set during the series, not after, and not an AU.
It was long and multichaptered.
Will knows who Hannibal really is. I believe its figured out midway through the story, but can't be sure.
I remember it having some BDSM elements. I believe Jack and/or Alana become convinced Will is being abused and manipulated. There's also a BDSM room that Hannibal builds, but the room was more a diversion that makes sense in story for when the police search Hannibal's home later on.
There's a trial, and their relationship is heavily questioned during it.
I think Hannibal and Will end up killing Alana in the BDSM room at the end?
This has just been driving me nuts, I hope someone knows what I'm talking about.

i’ve been looking for this fic forever but basically it’s post-fall and they are living in a tropical area (miami, latin america??) and they come home from killing someone. will is super overwhelmed by it and he’s covered in blood so they go to their outdoor shower to clean up and end up having sex. i think there was like a bucket of water involved somehow? and they maybe had someone tied up inside of the house. i don’t remember anything else from the fic but i am pretty sure it was over 30-40k.
