1–2 Working Days Apparently Means Weeks – My Headphone Zone Warranty Experience

I’m honestly very disappointed with my warranty experience with Headphone Zone.

My IEM developed a severe left-channel volume issue. I sent it for warranty, it was returned claiming to be repaired, but the exact same issue remained. I sent it back again, and Headphone Zone then confirmed that the unit was defective and said they would send a working replacement within 1–2 working days.

That deadline passed, and despite multiple follow-ups, I still didn't receive a proper update. I even received a response from a Headphone Zone representative here on Reddit saying they would get me an update by the next day, but I still haven't received one.

I understand that delays can happen, but repeatedly asking a customer to wait without providing a clear status is extremely frustrating.

Warranty Case: WCID: TAN4276RBU1

Order: 996820

At this point, I just want a clear answer: Is my replacement actually being dispatched? If there is a problem, please tell me directly instead of continuing to delay the case.

I genuinely want to know what the hell is this review ?

I was scrolling on the headphone zone and saw Chu 3 being listed for September. I noticed that it got a 5-star rating from someone so I scrolled down to see the review and found this... I mean what is this ? Is this some type of joke ?

Did I mess up terribly?

Hey everyone,

I ordered a Moondrop Chu II DSP from Headphone Zone today for ₹2,690. I was pretty happy with the purchase until I started looking through Reddit and came across quite a few posts about people's experiences with HPZ's QC and, more importantly, their customer service when something goes wrong.

I've seen posts about things like channel imbalance, one side failing, crackling, DSP issues, and people having difficulty getting warranty claims resolved. At the same time, I've also seen people say that they've had perfectly fine experiences with HPZ and that their warranty claims were handled without much trouble.

I understand that people are more likely to post about a bad experience than a good one, so I'm not trying to assume that HPZ is automatically bad. But after reading all of that immediately after placing my order, it definitely made me second-guess the purchase.

For people who have actually dealt with Headphone Zone's warranty/customer support recently, especially in the last week or so:

How was your experience?

If you received a defective product, did they replace or repair it without much hassle?

How long did the process take?

Did you have any issues convincing them that the product was actually defective?

And most importantly, would you personally buy an IEM from HPZ again?

I'm still within the window where I can cancel the order, so I'm trying to decide whether I'm overthinking this or whether the warranty concerns are actually worth considering.

I'll obviously record the unboxing and thoroughly test everything as soon as it arrives, but I'd really appreciate hearing from people who have actually gone through the process with HPZ.

HPZ unboxing my package 📦

i claimed for the warranty of the red lion since the left ear piece stopped working. i am attaching the images i shared for the warranty claim and the video that HZ shared including the mail body with me after 14 days of waiting, my package was reached to them on 31th of July today is 14th of August,

the mic button case got loose in transit looks like a QC or handling issue i hope they didn't damaged my cable while handling with it

(MAIL) FROM HZ TO ME

We have reviewed the unit and found that the cable is damaged. We are sharing the unboxing video for your reference, which shows the condition of the cable when the package was opened.(i had attached the video above by cropping my personal details only)

Please note that physical damage is not covered under warranty. However, we can offer a replacement of the left earpiece under warranty as an exception, as it is experiencing low sound output.

If you would like to purchase a spare cable, we can assist you with the same. The cost of the replacement cable is Rs. 999.

Alternatively, we can proceed with replacing the left earpiece and send the unit back to you without replacing the cable.

Please let us know how you would like to proceed.

2 Questions for the Sub

  1. What cable can I order and use with my HeadphoneZone x Fiio JD1, as the stock cables are not tangle free and very difficult to manage? I also plan to use these cables with other IEMs and supposedly around the 4-5k price bracket as I move upwards in my IEM Journey!

  2. USBC vs 3.5mm Jack+DAC, what should I prefer for future IEM Purchases? Is there a golden rule/rule of thumb?

1/5 — Avoid Headphone Zone. Wasted 45 days, extra money, and my patience.

I bought the KZ Castor Pro Human targeted version from Headphone Zone 45 days ago. Just 25 days in, one side stopped working properly. That’s when the real nightmare started.
Returning the product meant traveling 15km to a post office and shipping it back on my own dime — Headphone Zone didn’t cover a rupee of that cost. Their “customer support” is a joke: no phone calls, only emails, and even those take 2-3 days for a single reply before they go silent again. I waited 15-20 days just to get a replacement.
And when it finally arrived? They sent me the wrong version — the bass-boosted variant, when I listen to classical, treble, and vocal-heavy music and specifically don’t want bass-forward IEMs. After going all the way home just to check the product I’d waited weeks for, I opened the box to find they couldn’t even get the replacement right. Now they’ve gone quiet again, and it’s still not clear what happens next — I suspect they’ll just tell me to ship it back a second time, at my own expense, again, but at this point I don’t even have a straight answer from them.
I paid extra for these IEMs and barely got to use them before they were stuck in Headphone Zone’s broken return pipeline. This isn’t just bad service, it’s disrespectful of customers’ time and money. If you’re considering buying from Headphone Zone, don’t. Look at international sellers or literally any company with functioning customer support instead. I’ve lost weeks and money for nothing.

Problem!!

Hello Tangzu Team,

The Tangzu Wan’er SG2 Red Lion Edition was my first IEM, which I purchased from Headphone Zone about four months ago. I was genuinely surprised by the Red Lion Edition because I had never experienced that level of vocal clarity before. The bass is also impressive, with powerful beats, excellent instrument separation, and an overall great sound quality.

However, recently I have become very frustrated because I have faced two major problems with my Red Lion Edition. First, the right earbud suddenly stopped working, and I don't know what caused it. Later, I experienced a sound imbalance in the left earbud, along with distortion and a noticeable reduction in sound quality. I have now claimed the warranty for these issues.

I truly believe Tangzu is a great IEM manufacturing company, and I really appreciate the sound quality of your products. However, it seems that the Wan’er SG2 Red Lion Edition may have some quality-control (QC) issues.

Please look into this problem and take the necessary steps to improve the quality control of this model. I hope Tangzu will address these issues and continue making great IEMs.

Thank you. 🙏🏻

Headphonezone Customer Service

I have 2 IEM's that I use, Tangzu Wan'er Sg sage green and Moondrop Chu II, bought both of them from headphonezone. I have read a lot of complaints about them and I always used to disagree with them and there weren't enough positive reviews as people only tend to talk about bad experiences that they faced with a product or company. I bought my Tangzu Wan'er Sg back in May 2024 and I used it every single day, the wire got damaged due to wear and tear issues and I contacted the customer service and they asked me to send them the earphones and they would check it out. I was skeptical but I did it and I got a completely brand new earphones fully replaced on their end after a week. But then, I managed to damage this new one that they replaced again and they arranged for a pick up and replaced it with another brand new one. They replaced my earphones twice, with fully brand new earphones. And I have not had any issues with them ever since.

Then I bought my second set of iem's from them because I had such a pleasant experience back in October 2025. I again managed to damage my earphones after using it rigorously for a few months and I contacted them and they asked me to send it to them and they replaced the damaged cable for free of cost. After a couple of months, I think about 2-3 months, the left side of my earphones stopped working properly, so I contacted them again, and they arranged for a pick-up and I sent it to them and they fixed it and sent it back. While I was unpacking my newly fixed earphones which I so longed for in the time period I didn't have it, I was greeted with an unpleasant surprise, the pull tab on my earphones box, it got damaged, which led to the cover art being damaged and torn off. I wrote back to them, and they deeply regretted it and have said that they will be sending me a new box if they have one available and I was satisfied with it because I did use the box on display and a replacement box would suffice. But today, I got a call, and I got a parcel, it was from IGP, they do surprises and gift deliveries and stuff here and they called me and informed me that I had a cake under my name. I was confused. I declined it thinking they got the wrong number but he told me my address so obviously it was someone who knew me. He delivered it, I got a cake, a card and an extremely pleasant surprise, it was a gift from headphonze to make up for damaging my IEM's box. WOW.

I have never seen a customer service of this sort ever. Like who does this. Extremely fabulous customer service.

Thank you Headphonezone

I ordered wan'er sg 2 and the type c connector is bent at an angle.

I have barely used it, and it's not even been 24 hours since it arrived. Is this a big deal? I couldn't find the option for replacement on the website, only an option to refund

Headphones Zone : The cake affair......are the a cake company now?? 🥴

I saw a post where a guy had issues with his Tangzu IEM, after a few to n fro, Headphones Zone sent him a "cake" as an apology. So kind and generous!!

Wow....an apology and a cake for some \~₹2,000 IEM???

My order value was 15x times more, never got a slice of cake, least a cake and apology for 2 weeks of trouble. In fact the guy who called me to understand the issue was rude.

I know a friend whose order value was 30x times....no cake or apology. His trouble went for around 3 weeks.

What kind of nonsense marketing tactics is this now? Having been flooded with issues and negative reviews on reddit, Headphones Zone sent and is sending cakes to low order value people to overwhelm them and extract a positive experience review?

Please use all this brain on getting better at product issues and after sales, not gimmicks.

r/HeadphoneZoneOfficial, want to send cakes instead of proper working products and having a decent after sales team.....become a cake company instead of audio one! 🎂

Please, people share in the comments your stories and the experience of dealing with Headphones Zone after sales. Let's see how many cakes are flying in the air......

Does 'working replacement' mean a new or refurbished unit?

I sent all the original accessories along with the unit when I shipped it for the warranty claim. I’ll need those accessories back as well. Does anyone know how this usually works when they send a replacement? Will they return my original accessories, or would they send a complete replacement package with accessories?

Would appreciate any insight.

I'll never buy from Headphone Zone.

Edit: They refunded my money. Worst Experience.

I bought an IEM from Headphone Zone for my friend. The product had an issue, so I requested a return.

The product reached their warehouse and after a few days they checked it. They emailed me saying that they confirmed the product is defective and gave me 3 options: replacement, store credit, or refund.

I replied and clearly chose refund.

But after that, they are not replying to me or giving me any update about the refund. I have already waited a long time for this return, and now even after they confirmed it is defective, I still have to keep following up.

Their customer service call team is also very rude.

Has anyone else had this problem with Headphone Zone? How long did your refund take?

Someone at headphonezone please help I can't keep doing this

I ordered an iem during the sale which was shipped through DTDC. There were 11 attempts made to deliver the product cause the agent never used to call me at the end it was returned. After a month of going through all this yesterday i finally received my refund i placed another order and i specifically mentioned them to not ship it through DTDC again. Please I can't deal with the delivery issue for another month.
