New OTC Single-Dose HSV-1 Cold Sore Tablet Launches in Europe

Navamedic has launched Virono®, described as the first over-the-counter single-dose tablet for recurrent cold sores (HSV-1).

The treatment uses a mucoadhesive buccal tablet with aciclovir that’s applied once at the first sign of an outbreak, aiming to simplify treatment compared to creams that require multiple daily applications.

The company plans rollout across Nordic and European markets as demand for easier HSV self-care options grows.

Why is Fred Hutch no longer providing updates on its research?

Skeptical. More than four years without any updates from Fred Hutch regarding their herpes research. What has become of the funds collected to support this work?

HSV Is Not “Just a Simple Infection”

For those who say HSV is just a simple infection: did you know herpes can affect the eyes and cause irreversible vision loss?

This disease is often minimized, yet millions of people suffer in silence. It’s time to raise awareness, support research, and take HSV seriously.

Can herpes be cured through a healthy lifestyle?

Skeptical, I have seen many people on social media claim they were cured of HSV after following certain treatments and taking supplements and vitamins. A few months later, their tests supposedly became negative.

The question remains: is this truly possible, or is it simply misinformation?

I’ll leave two links below so you can judge for yourselves:

End the stigma!

You are not alone.

HSV is common, manageable, and nothing to be ashamed of. Together, we can replace stigma with education, understanding, and support.

URGENT READING⚠️⚠️⚠️

Recently, Alfasigma contacted me to participate in a clinical trial for their new treatment, IM-250. Unfortunately, my current situation does not allow me to participate.

If you’ve read my other posts, you know that I actively fight for herpes awareness and for better recognition of the real impact this virus has on people’s lives.

That is why I am reaching out to everyone. I want to bring people together and show that this virus truly affects millions of lives.

If anyone would like to take my place or receive more information, I would be happy to connect you with the company.

Please share and help make our voices heard.

URGENT READ THIS

I’m unable to post the photos here, but I can share them with you. If you have any questions, feel free to write them in the comments.

According to available sources, BDgene currently appears to be the only company to have reported cases of clinical cure for ocular HSV-1 herpes.

I need your help to sign petitions sent to several organizations to show that we are present and united. Please also read my other posts

BDgene's answers

I hope this message finds you well.

Thank you very much for your continued interest in our BD111 therapy and for your support in advancing medical innovation. We truly appreciate the enthusiasm you have shown toward our research.

We are pleased to share that BD111 has now advanced to Phase II clinical trials. This is an important milestone in its development, and the current phase will focus on further evaluating the therapy’s efficacy and safety in a larger group of patients, as well as optimizing dosing regimens.

That said, we regret to inform you that, at this time, participation in the clinical trial remains limited to patients with Chinese nationality. This restriction is due to regulatory requirements and operational considerations specific to the current stage of the study.

We understand this may be disappointing, and we truly appreciate your understanding. We remain hopeful that, as the trial progresses and expands, there will be more opportunities for broader participation in the future.

If you have any further questions or would like to stay updated on future developments, please feel free to reach out. We value your interest and look forward to sharing more progress with you as it becomes available.

Wishing you all the best.

Sincerely,

Let’s Act Together — Read This Message.

Herpes affects billions of people around the world, many of whom suffer in silence, paralyzed by the fear of judgment and forced to endure their distress in isolation. Yet, very few dare to stand up and demand real change, support petitions, or put pressure on institutions to accelerate scientific research.

It is striking how rarely people speak about herpes… until the day it affects them personally. Where are these nearly 3 billion people living with the virus? In my opinion, if everyone affected united their voices, signed petitions, and raised greater public awareness, things could take a very different direction ??
