Rereading the series and still one of my biggest pet peeves

This is from the Shadow of Saganami but it has bugged me since the first time I read it. Just the simple fact you have a Grayson “princess” which they go to lengths to say at the start on board your ship. Then none of the incredibly smart politically savvy people realize that maybe just ummmmmm maybe having her speak alone with Westman alone as the heir to a steading might have got him to think a bit more clearly!

Are we close to the end than we thought?

In Crystal Singer's Song, Honor's portion of the story takes place in 1926 PD, two years after To End In Fire. It's been a few months since I read it, but I swear there's a line saying they're preparing their final offensive against the Alignment. I guess we're close to the end, and that storyline won't be continuing until Honor's kids are the main characters in the story.

Warshawskium?

What even is that? How does it interact with technology? It sounds like some unobtainium or another vibranium. I always thought Warszawski's sail was genius because it was extremely sophisticated piece of engineering, like steam engine in 15 century. Now it's sound just like natural properties of material - if you put electrical current through iron it generate magnetism. If you put electrical current through Warshawskium it generate grav wave. Adrienne Warszawski is now less like an Euler with precise goal who make incredible discoveries with the power of mind, and more like Hennig Brand, who discovered phosphorus just by looking what happens when you boil human urine

Disappointing.

"“Warshawskium,” Lorra said, tossing the sample back and forth between her hands. “That’s what. It’s a rare earth, very valuable. It’s used in every gravitic engineering application. It can be produced artificially, but the process is complicated and expensive. It’s a lot cheaper and more efficient to extract the naturally occurring rare earth from the host mineral. Most people wouldn’t recognize it, but Stormy was a rock hound, always talking about how someday she’d strike it rich. Thing is, while skoldian may contain warshawskium, it doesn’t always." - What price victory?, Deception on Gryphon
