I had an interview at IHOP today, and it was one of the strangest interviews I’ve ever had.

The interviewer never introduced herself or even asked for my name. She didn’t ask me a single interview question about my experience, availability, or anything about me. The entire interview was basically her explaining the job, training, and expectations. The only things I really got to say were “yep” and “I understand.”

She also said I’d have to drive about 30-40 minutes away to another location for training, which I wasn’t expecting.

During the interview she said there’s a difference between being “stupid” and “ignorant,” and that I’d be ignorant because I’d be new. I understood what she meant, but it still seemed like an odd thing to say in an interview.

She also mentioned that she doesn’t like new people slowing her down and that new hires spend a long time learning before actually serving tables.

At the end she had me fill out paperwork that included my Social Security number, then she disappeared. I waited around for about 15 minutes, never saw her again, and ended up handing the paperwork to someone at the front because I didn’t know what else to do.

For anyone who’s worked at IHOP, is this a normal interview experience, or were these legitimate red flags?

I was just informed that my offer is rescinded due to my misdemeanor not being 3+ years old. I’m willing to answer any questions about this to see if this is policy or them upset about the waves I’ve cause by coming in and pointing out operations lacking and things being allowed that most definitely shouldn’t be.

I was recently at iHop and noticed some- interesting menus. Some were clearly AI, but one was omelette menu was printed out with real pictures of the food. I looked all over the internet and there was no trace of some of the omelettes and weren’t even on the tablet- like salmon and Philly cheese steak. On the AI menus, there were uncommon flavors such as an avocado flavor, and a whole smoothie menu. To my knowledge, smoothies aren’t even sold there. To sum up this post- is this a universal iHop experience now? Is this happening anywhere else? I know this isn’t very important, but my curiosity is overwhelming. What would happen if someone tried ordering this food?

I recently visited an IHOP location and was disappointed by my experience. I was not allowed to enter or receive service, while a large family was welcomed and even provided complimentary food. From my perspective, the situation felt unfair, and I would appreciate an explanation of the circumstances and whether the same policies were applied consistently to all customers.

tell me your stories. I started a few weeks ago and I was supposed to start graveyards but they keep calling me in early, and get off around 2 am. Tonight is my very first graveyard at this store. Tell me your experiences please!! TIA!!

We were at a touristy place at 11pm and they said value menu over at 10pm. The menu did not state anything…..
