AirPods Pro 3 suddenly sound “weird / off” on firmware 9A314b (still on beta)

Hi everyone,

I’m having a strange issue with my AirPods Pro 3 and wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing something similar.
• Device: AirPods Pro 3
• Firmware: 9A314b (still on a beta firmware, have never left beta)
• iPhone: 16 pro iOS 27.0
• Issue started: suddenly, about 1 week ago, with no changes to settings on my side

Problem:
The sound quality suddenly became “off” in a way that’s hard to describe. It’s not simply muffled or quiet; it’s more like the overall tonal balance is wrong. Everything sounds a bit strange and unnatural compared to how they sounded before.
• It happens on all audio (music, YouTube, podcasts), not just calls.
• It’s the same with ANC off, Transparency off, and all listening modes.
• I did not change any EQ, Headphone Accommodations, or spatial audio settings; they were working fine before with the same config.
• I’m still on the same beta firmware track as before; the problem just appeared out of nowhere about a week ago.

What I’ve tried so far:
• Turned ANC / Transparency off and on
• Disabled Headphone Accommodations and custom audio setup
• Turned off EQ and spatial audio / head tracking
• Forgotten and re‑paired the AirPods
• Full factory reset (amber → white) and re‑paired
• Checked firmware: currently on 9A314b
The sound is still noticeably “wrong” compared to before, but I can’t pinpoint it as just bass/treble/EQ; it’s more like the whole presentation is off.

Has anyone else on 9A314b (or other recent beta firmwares) noticed this? Is this a known firmware issue, or is it more likely a hardware defect that Apple would replace? Any suggested next steps before going to an Apple Store?

‼️Live Wallpaper not available on IOS 27 BETA 1, 2, 3, and 4‼️

I think I may have found a bug with Live Wallpaper on the iPhone Pro Max and iPhone Air. It appears to be completely non-functional. I haven't seen anyone else online mention this yet, so I wanted to bring it to your attention. Please let me know if you are experiencing the same issue, and if so, report it in the Feedback app!!!

Journal on iOS 27 beta 4 — Overview

On iPhone…

There seem to be fewer bugs when creating or editing entries. Editing works fine, too.

However, Journal’s battery drain is terrible ! I used the app for 44 minutes, and it drained 23% of the battery ! That’s huge !! Plus, the iPhone Air gets hot quickly and even scorching at times…

Since beta 1, I’ve sent numerous feedback messages to report the issue. So far, to no avail...

Finally, I’m a French speaker, and the app’s system language has switched to English 🤔

Public Beta 2 battery percentage bug

Downloaded the PB2 1.5 hours ago and noticed that the battery percentage is bugging. It shows the amount to which I’ve charged it and doesn’t drop. Once I restart the phone it shows the current battery percentage but again won’t drop until I restart again. Now I never know how much battery I have. Whaaaat…. Anybody experiencing the same thing??

iPhone 16 overheating & dead touchscreen on iOS 27 Public Beta - Is it a known bug or a hardware defect?

I’ve been testing the iOS 27 Public Beta on my iPhone 16 (which is only about a month old), and the experience has been a nightmare lately.

After just 5-10 minutes of normal use, the phone often becomes very hot, especially around the battery area.

Sometimes the touchscreen completely freezes and doesn’t respond until I lock and unlock the phone (or wait for it to recover).

Has anyone else experienced these issues with the iPhone 16?
I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences before I contact Apple Support.
Thanks!

iOS 27 Bug. PLEASE HELP!

I have IOS 27 Public Beta 1 on iPhone 15 Pro. Today, I don’t know why but in General > Software Update > Beta updates I changed it from IOS 27 Public beta to Developer beta. While it was still loading it I left the General menu. Now when I try to go back to Software update it just sits on ‘Checking on update‘. I tried Resetting network setting and force restarting, also airplane mode to break the cycle but nothing helps.

Battery Help

Everyone seems to be saying how great their battery is on iOS 27 PB 1 but I am seeing the opposite.

iOS 26 I would get through 15 hours.
iOS 27 I’m lucky to make 8 hours.

Is there anyway calibration I can do to improve this?

Thanks

When is iOS 27 Public Beta 2 coming out?

iOS 27 Developer Beta 4 is due to be released tomorrow, isn’t it? If so, does that mean iOS 27 Public Beta 2 will also be released in a few hours’ time?

The folder icon isn't behaving right.

I can't help but feel like this might have been there since iOS 27 Developer Beta 3, but ever since Beta 4 came out, it's been acting weird... like this:

iOS 27 - Public Beta Temperature warning bug

Is anyone else experiencing this?
iPhone 15 Pro - 98% Battery Health 321 cycles
After updating from 26.5 to the public beta, my phone has started to randomly show this temperature warning message even though the phone is not hot at all?
I mean before indexing it was super cool and I was honestly surprised since the 15 pro is known for being super hot, but after indexing completed it went back to how warm it used to be on iOS 26, although not nearly enough for it to trigger the warning. It just happens randomly even when the phone is idle sometimes

New Siri ignores a contact’s assigned sim when calling (dual e-sim)

I’ve got a dual eSIM iPhone and have certain contacts set to always call from a specific SIM. Since updating, whenever I ask Siri to call one of those contacts, it just uses my default calling SIM instead of the one assigned to the contact.
If I call them manually from the Phone app it uses the correct SIM, so it seems to be a Siri issue rather than a dual SIM issue.

Anyone else having this issue?

Siri and ChatGPT

So with the new Gemini optimized Siri in ios27, should we be enabling the ChatGPT extension in settings? Seems redundant.

Are automations still broken in iOS 27 PB1?

Can anyone tell me this? I heard some people complaining about all of their automations not working during the developer beta.

Does the Siri AI in iOS 27 drain the battery quite a bit if you leave it switched on??

I’ve only just installed the beta version and I’d like to try out Siri AI in iOS 27. Up until iOS 26, I’d kept Apple Intelligence switched off as I didn’t find it particularly useful, but I’ve heard that Siri has been improved in iOS 27, so I’d like to give it a go. However, I’m worried it might drain the battery quite a bit.
