IWTYO at 34 years old as a man First time I truly understood the physical strength gap between men and women

This is for a normal man and women. Not the Bruce Lee of women and men.

Today I had a genuinely eye-opening experience. I work in law enforcement, but I’m currently on a break traveling the country and picked up a temporary security job while traveling. I’m a 6’0”, 200 lb man. A woman who was about 6’1”, 245 lbs approached me and, without any warning or prior interaction, began assaulting me. She hit me five times before I could react, giving it everything she had screaming that I’m gonna die.

In my career in corrections and as a state trooper I’ve been assaulted by men multiple times. Even smaller men have seriously hurt me. I’ve had blood drawn, a tooth knocked out, and have nearly been knocked unconscious. Those punches hurt. This felt completely different. Her hits honestly reminded me of being punched by my brother when we were kids before puberty and real strength set in.

I responded with a single left-right to the body and immediately stopped. She collapsed, crying and gasping for breath. Because of our remote location, I assisted medics with transport and later learned from X-rays that she had three broken ribs and a cracked sternum. She later admitted she was in a manic episode and believed she was trying to kill me.

In ten years of law enforcement, every interaction I’ve had with women had been compliant, so this was my first time physically confronting a woman. I’ve never taken a man down with just two body shots. It usually takes punches, grappling, and cuffs.

This experience really changed my perspective. I’ve always \*known\* men can be scary to women, but this was the first time I truly understood the physical reality of that difference firsthand and I can’t stop thinking about it and seeing it from a women’s point of view now and the eye opening experience it was.

I then came home and my wife wanted to Truly see if she could fight me off and I was able to pin her down and hold her within a few seconds. I genuinely see the terrifyingness of men from women’s point of view

IWTYO when I learnt I don't have adult acne. I was just showering wrong

Up until recently, I used to have pimples on my chin, neck, upper back and chest. It was never as bad as in my teens but I am still well into my 30s.

I read somewhere on reddit that you should rinse your hair conditioner off first and wash your body after, otherwise the conditioner running down the body clogs pores. My whole life, in order to shower efficiently, I would shampoo and leave my conditioner in while I washed and shaved, and finish with rinsing away the conditioner.

I switched the sequence as recommended and I haven't had a single pimple on my back, neck and torso yet. I feel so dumb.

IWTYO Funk Realization

IWTYO age 52, when I realized that Beastie Boys Root Down references The Meters Cissy Strut and Look Ka Py Py in the lyrics. Have listened to this song and album hundreds of times. Getting more into funk and jazz because my 12 yr old son is playing drums. Trying to expose him to different drum styles. He appreciates the Meters and AWB cant wait to intro him to this linkage. Love showing my kids the original music that they hear samples from! They dismiss it as Unc/ dad lore but someday they will appreciate!
