Im trying to learn how to mod the official game

I'm looking for tips on how I could make an official mainline mod for the game. I think I could learn the art and animation parts of mod making so ,specifically, I wanna know some places I could go to learn the coding aspect as that's the part I am least familiar with. I'm trying to create a solo mod too because I wanna do all the work to make a mod. Let me know anything you guys know about mod making for the official game :)
