Forbidden Desires by Madhuri Banerjee gave me major Desperate Housewives vibes, but set right here in India. It’s a beautifully messy story about four women who are completely fed up with their dead-end marriages and decide to take back their agency.

The spice is definitely there, and the plot really doesn't hold back on the drama of affairs and physical intimacy. I usually prefer my stories a bit more gritty rather than casual fluff, but this still kept me glued to my Kindle all weekend.

Highly recommend if you are craving an entertaining, soapy deep-dive into modern women's relationships.

I really enjoyed Beneath Saree. It's more than just a romance—it has a good mix of emotions, chemistry, and character development. The story kept me hooked, and I genuinely wanted to know what would happen next.

The chemistry between the characters feels natural, and the steamy scenes add to the story instead of feeling forced. I also liked that the book explores feelings and relationships, not just romance.

The pacing is good, the writing is easy to read, and the characters feel relatable. If you enjoy romances with a bit of spice, this is definitely worth reading.

I just had to drop my thoughts on "Thief of Poompuhar" by Nila Iyer. If you are tired of hunting for good Indian historical romance, you seriously need to check this out. The story takes you way back to ancient India, and the rich historical setting completely hooks you from the very first page.

The emotional drama between the main characters is just wild, packed with so much deep longing, intense eye contact, and heart-racing tension. As for the spice? It is a solid 3.5/5.

It starts out as an agonizingly good slow burn, but once they finally cross the line, the intimate scenes are super explicit, passionate, and hot while staying perfectly grounded in their emotional connection. If you notice the orange logo on the book, it says 'Kama Kahani', and that is what made me pick this book :D

If you love fierce characters, rich history, and plenty of open-door steam that will keep you reading past midnight, definitely add this to your list!
