I wanted to seek you guys regarding MBA/MSc admissions, specifically for JBIMS and SIMSREE as I'm from ALL INDIA CATEGORY,NON MAHARASHTRA DOMICILE.
I have scored 143 in Slot 7(146 after looking at 3 wrong questions which would be upgraded), which is translating to approximately ~99.6ish percentile. My academic profile is 9/9/7, with Mathematics as a major both in school and college. I also have 2–3 internships during college, though I do not have full-time work experience.
I recently came across some discussions suggesting that in JBIMS MSc Finance, there may have been no selections from the All India category in the last 2 years, at least for finance, and that most seats may be effectively going to Maharashtra domicile/reserved categories. I am not sure how accurate this is, which is why I wanted to confirm with you.
Could you please help me understand:
1)Whether All India category candidates are actually considered in MSc Finance / MHRD at JBIMS and Finance at SIMSREE
If yes, what is the approximate seat bifurcation between All India and Maharashtra domicile/reserved categories
2)Based on my profile and expected percentile, whether I should realistically expect a call or keep it as a target option.
I would really appreciate your honest guidance on whether it makes sense to apply/expect calls from these institutes or if the chances are structurally low for All India candidates.
Thank you.
Looking forward to see you in the comments.
Looking for insights from ex students/current students of jbims
I have a job at hand that I am supposed to start next month-7.2lpa but good company
I got 97%tile in cat 2025 but got a 163 in mhcet attempt 2
I was wondering if i should repeat or take jbims
For reference i am a gnef 8/8/6 profile, couldnt convert xlri bm and didnt apply for hrm however i will if i give exams next year
Mainly interested in marketing roles or consulting roles, my profile is not ideal for either
Profile - 8/7/7(btech cse)

2-3 basic data analytics projects
Helped my mother start her own clothing store.
How to make the CV with only this much of data?
Was checking the response sheet + official key for Attempt 2 Slot 2 and found a few doubtful questions. Wanted to know what others think before raising objections.
Q 211689 — “Transcription” synonym
Official answer: Evidence
Honestly none of the options fit properly in the biological/genetics context. “Evidence” especially seems incorrect.
Q 211550 — Odd one out
253, 473, 143, 633, 847
Official answer: 633
I marked 847 because all others are ≡ 3 (mod 10), only 847 ends in 7. Felt like a cleaner/direct pattern.
Q 211586 — Zebra, Lion, Tiger, Horse, Giraffe
Official answer: Horse
I marked Giraffe since the other four are comparatively common medium-sized animals, while giraffe is uniquely distinguished by extreme height/body structure. Felt a bit subjective/ambiguous depending on classification logic.
Edit:
Also, Giraffe Has 3 vowels , others have only 2
Q 211670 — Series
5, 11, 17, 23, 31, ?
Official answer: 41
I marked 37 because the pattern initially follows +6 throughout:
5→11→17→23 (+6 each), so continuing +6 gives 37.
Anyone else doubtful about these?
Which ones do you think are actually objection-worthy?
Hello guys, I was wondering, do they call for GDPI based purely on just percentile or both percentile and profile? I’m genuinely confused because one of my friends got a call for GDPI at 96 percentile in 2024 and people are saying the cut off went up to 98-98.5 percentile in 2025
guys what are my chances for jbims attempt 2 slot 1 -140 OBC category
23F here, a little confused about JBIMS options and wanted some honest advice from people who know the ecosystem well.
I gave my first MAH MBA CET attempt literally just for fun 😭 I hadn’t prepared, didn’t even properly know the sections/pattern, just wanted to see what the paper feels like. After the answer key, I realized I had scored around 120.
Then before my second attempt, I had around a week, so I gave a few mocks mainly to understand strategy/time management and now I’m expecting somewhere around 140–160.
Profile:
10th: 92.8% (ICSE)
12th: 88.4% (ISC)
BTech CS: 97% equivalent CGPA
2 years work ex at a fintech company as an Associate Technical Consultant (current package ~8-10 LPA)
The thing is — I’m not super passionate about any one domain specifically. My primary goal honestly is maximizing career growth/package.
So I’m confused between:
- Trying for JBIMS MMS
- Considering the JBIMS MSc Finance program instead
- Or just continuing my job and trying again next year for MMS if needed
I know MMS is obviously harder to get, so I wanted realistic opinions:
- How good is MSc Finance actually in terms of placements/opportunities?
- Does it significantly differ from MMS in outcomes/reputation?
- Would my tech + fintech background help there?
- If my end goal is highest possible compensation trajectory, what would you do in my place?
Not desperate to do an MBA immediately since I already have a stable job, so I’m trying to think long-term and rationally instead of just chasing a tag.
Would genuinely appreciate honest advice from current students/alumni 🙏
Its too long of a wait .
When can we expect the results to be out ?
This wait is killing me .
25M here. Academics: 10th - 95%, 12th - 81%, Engineering CGPA - 9.6, CFA Level 3 Candidate
Work ex: ~1.5 years at a finance firm working in private valuations.
I gave CET this year without much prep and somehow expecting around 165 based on the answer key. There’s a decent chance I may convert JBIMS.
The original plan, however, was to properly prepare for CAT this year and target BLACKI, FMS Delhi and SPJIMR.
Now I’m confused about what makes more sense if I do get a JB admit this year.
I’ve read a few posts recently saying JBIMS placement quality has gone down a bit in recent years, especially for front-end finance and consulting opportunities which i want to get into.
Wanted some insights regarding should i go for CAT this year and how the are placements in JB currently
Hello everyone,
I am expecting to join JB this year and wanted to understand the hostel situation for girls.
Would really appreciate insights from current students/alumni on a few things:
Would love to hear honest experiences, pros/cons, and anything else I should know before joining.
Thanks in advance!
Hi i am fresher and has a chance of getting in jbims
9/9/7 (vjti) profile engineer what things should i do so that i can get good summer internship.
Like increase communication skills, live project, etc and where can i get them
I have little inclination toward consultancy
Any alumini who can help me
Thanks in advance
I want to seriously start prep for mba cet 2027 right from June. Ofc I only want to target 2 top best colleges JB and simshree. But also I have my college placements starting from next month. So should I fully focus on the cet exam prep or placements (also I am not interested in my engg course) . I want suggestions that should I prepare for an exam with a job after being placed or fully prepare for cet in my 4th year. Also this year I got 118 marks in 1st attempt without actually preparing for the exam.
Plzz suggest something...
Hey fellas! I am much positive on my MBA CET attempt 2. I would at least be getting SIMSHREE and if luck permits JB 🤞🏻. I was here in Mumbai today and was exploring the area around JB. Got fking exhausted on the half way to SIMSHREE. Couldn't go there and went back to metro for my flight.
I wasn't able to find anything nearby. Please please tell me exactly where are you guys staying. So fking Hot in Mumbai mannn!!! 😭😭😭
I heard that MHRD is dying and the placements are not that good anymore. Is it true? I wanna pursue mhrd from jbims
