Just stumbled on the sub, and thought to drop my current food schedule.
I tried different cooks and they all tend to make unhealthy food, pour in litres of oil in food within weeks, they don't wash hands and utensils properly if not monitored and the drama of food preferences just made it very difficult to continue.
So I had to take matters into my own hands.
I have been studying Jainism a lot lately, and I see food being a big part of how we think and act in life, infact food is if not the biggest, then surely one of the biggest strong kashay and karm bandhan source.
So I tried coming up with satvik food, I have given up my cravings for taste so I can very well survive on the same food. But I include variety out of need for nutrition.
I am an ectomorph, and I play sports too, so I need to take extra care else I turn into a skeleton very easily, I tend to do unodri as well, so number of meals are important.
In case you are curious about Jain food and diet and correlation of it with modern nutrition science hmu, I made a course on it(using AI and referring to actual human made references) and am studying using it.
Here's my list of dishes:
Morning pre-breakfast - soaked dry fruits (munakka, apricot, peanuts, walnuts, almonds)
Morning Breakfast - Dahi with soaked poha or Upma or suji Dhokla
Lunch - Boiled chana, corn chaat with cucumber and tomato(if I am going to office) else besan or moong chilla, or khichdi
Dinner (before sunset) - usually Khichdi or chilla or daliya
In between I sneak in fruits, protein shake, Sattu ka drink, and snacks like makhana, jowar or ragi murmura, roasted chana, peanuts, khakhra, etc.
I make sure I do not eat anything with sugar and oil, and root veges. I try not to make any virudh ahar as per ayurveda so things get tricky there as well.
Please share more of your meal ideas to enrich my list!
