Still no Jim or what?

Has he made an appearance since Paris? They must think that the clone needs to stay low for a long time to let the controversy wash over….

Dear Jim Carrey — I just wanted to say thank you

A Thank You to Jim Carrey

I don't know if Jim Carrey will ever read this. Honestly, I don't expect him to.

He's a very busy man with his own life, and that's completely okay.

But there is something I've wanted to say for a very long time, and I finally decided to put it into words.

My life hasn't been easy.

I was bullied, hurt, abused and treated terribly in ways that left scars I still carry. I've seen and experienced more suffering than anyone should have to.

But throughout those years, there was something I could always come back to.

Jim Carrey's movies.

There were moments when I had absolutely nothing to laugh about, when life felt unbearably dark, and somehow this man could still make me laugh.

The Mask. Ace Ventura. Dumb and Dumber. Liar Liar. Bruce Almighty. The Truman Show. And so many others.

Sometimes I didn't need advice.
I didn't need someone to tell me that everything would be okay.

I just needed to laugh.

And Jim Carrey gave me that.

He didn't know who I was.
He didn't know what I had been through.
He didn't know what kind of day I was having when I pressed play.

But somehow, for a couple of hours, the world became a little brighter.

His characters were ridiculous, chaotic, strange, hilarious and sometimes completely insane — and I loved every second of it.

There were times when laughter was one of the few beautiful things I had.

And that is something I will never forget.

I'm writing this with tears in my eyes because I realize now just how much those moments meant to me.

So Jim, if by some incredibly unlikely chance you ever see this:

Thank you.

Thank you for the laughter.

Thank you for the characters.

Thank you for the madness.

Thank you for giving people like me a few hours where the darkness didn't matter.

You may never know my name.

You may never know that somewhere in Germany there was a guy who watched your movies and laughed when he had almost nothing left to laugh about.

But you did something good.

You made my life a little more beautiful.

And for that, I will always be grateful.

I'm forever forced to remember the B-List movie that is THE INCREDIBLE BURT WONDERSTONE... now you get to remember it too.

Honestly, I figured a movie starring Jim Carrey as a semi-antagonist, and featuring the double Steve talent of Buscemi and Carell as the main characters would end up being a more... Memorable movie. I mean I remember it, for being mediocre.

That being said... Not sure I could see anyone else in the movie industry in 2013 that could "accurately" portray somebody giving themselves a lobotomy live on stage, with just their natural acting talents, other than Jim Carrey.

But bonus points for having Olivia Wilde (Thirteen from House) as the female lead!
