Jumping worm ID: do they really surface first during a mustard pour?

I recently confirmed jumping worms on my property. Today I did a mustard and water pour and dozens of worms came up. I'm not stopping to check clitellum on every one, so I'm using a rule of thumb: wild wiggling means toss vinegar, sluggish means bucket (to put back later), unsure means vinegar.

My assumption is that because jumping worms live closer to the surface, they are likely emerge first after I pour on the mustard mix. This seemed confirmed because the first ones to wriggle up do seem to thrash hardest.

Two questions:

  1. Is it actually true that jumping worms tend to surface first in a mustard pour?
  2. Do regular earthworms also writhe wildly when exposed to mustard water, or is aggressive wiggling a decent indicator on its own?

Curious if anyone has tested this more rigorously and can offer advice on this method.

Asian Jumper in my outdoor compost

Notice the flush clitellum and the way it slithers. They are also much more muscular and firm compared to European earthworms. They don’t always have to jump.

Are these Asian jumping worms?

It doesn't really look like what Google describe but as you can see, they made my soil look like coffee grounds, there's many of them inside my potted apple tree.

Ajw

So this is the second worm that looked like this I found in my bin. I read from someone else that their mouth is huge and an indicator that it is the ajw. Anyone care to confirm? Tried getting the mouth on video.

Is this an Asian jumping worm?

I keep finding these worms in a few beds. They don't thrash around like the videos I've seen, but they sure look like the photos. I got an insect app, and it's telling me they're red wigglers, but they don't look like any of the other example photos of them. My husband is convinced they are the Asian ones because they don't thrash. I'm having a break over this worrying my soil is being destroyed.
