KCB vs CGEN: What would you do with KES 500K Techies?

I have KES 500K that I’m considering putting into the NSE.
KCB has announced a KES 3 interim dividend, with books closing on 2 September 2026 and payment in November.
Car & General has announced a KES 1 dividend, with books closing on 3 September.
My dilemma is:
- Buy KCB and hold through November for the dividend, while hoping for some capital appreciation.
- Buy KCB/CGEN now and trade the price movement before the book-closure dates.
- Split the KES 500K between the two.
- Forget the dividends and look for a completely different short-term opportunity.

My target is to make money fast, so I’m aware that carries significant risk.

What would you do with KES 500K in this situation?

Especially interested in views from people who actively trade the NSE.
