Why is this not more Popular

I just finished the anime and I'm surprised that the fandom is not already massive, I'm not expecting like JJK numbers but still, I loved season 1

9/10 for me

I say this because at least on YouTube, generally Kill Blue content has gotten millions of views, one edit had almost 6 million so even if half watched the anime, that should be 3 million new fans

Also reading through this subreddit, it seems like the manga being axed and the rushed ending are the major problems, but season 2 is already confirmed so I'm just saying if this anime doesn't get more popular, mainstream anime media is cooked. I found this very enjoyable and really refreshing It also avoids the Sus tropes and has a decent "assassin's but can't kill" situation which I've grown used to in anime so not a problem for me

Hopefully a Anime Only Ending

As much as I love this show, I genuinely hope we get a different ending than the manga. Seeing Ogami back to a middle schooler and most likely WILL STAY THAT WAY for the rest of his life seem as a bad ending. Even after him reminiscing of his family, I genuinely hope we get a new ending where he goes back to his adult form. Do you guys agree? And is it possible for a whole new better ending?
