Shielded safety’s next and I’m done with it.
Excited to see how far Kimber has come. I’m glad the company turned over a new leaf in the past several years. I got this several days ago and will be running it in a USPSA match this Sunday.
2k11 with maybe around 1500 rounds through it and noticed this chunk missing out of the lockup lugs on the slide, i dont really see any damage on the barrels lugs. Is this something i should be concerned about?
Bought it back in January. Have maybe put 300 rounds through it so far. On more than one occasion the slide would not return to battery after ejecting the spent casing. Usually on the last bullet of a magazine. Today during range day had a failed ejection of a spent casing. I clean it after every range visit so I am wondering if anyone else has experienced these issues?
Tried disassembling this thing for the first time and the guide rod won’t come out, and I can’t push it far out enough to rotate it to release the spring tension. Attempting to rotate it just rotates the whole thing. Any help?
Edit: RESOLVED thank you to everyone who commented!
Throwing the tag precision plate on my DS Warrior 1911. You guys sufficiently scared the hell out of me with the horrors of the C&H Plate. What is best/right screw for a 407 Comp Holosun? Use the tag precision screws or buy better ones? What size? Normally use calculated kinetics plates on most handguns. Any help appreciated

Out of the options staccato, platypus, dan wesson, and sigs. I went ahead and picked out the Kimber 2k11. I love the design of this firearm and the Kimber redemption back into market.
Brand new 2K11, and it’s got some weird behavior. First, it’s throwing a LOT of crap into the lens of the site, so much so that I’m having to clean it with a cloth between stages - about every 20 rounds. Second, it’s exhibiting trigger binding occasionally, where the trigger will not move at all, regardless of pressure, until I re-rack the slide (I’ve also had some success slapping the bottom of the mag). In 4 stages, it did it 3 times.
To me, it looks like the barrel fit isn’t correct, and is potentially causing both issues? What are folks thoughts.
I bought a 2k11 pro in December, never had an issue with the hot spots on the safety until the other day when I put the most rounds through it in one sitting since I bought it. I called the Kimber customer service and they said I could PURCHASE a new safety from them. I didn’t make the safety with poor metallurgy or whatever the issue was, they did. Staccato never does this shit if something they built has an issue. I love the gun but I won’t be buying another from Kimber. You spend 2k on a gun you expect them to own their issues. Anybody else have this issue? Is their customer service this bad?
