Another Botched V beam?

Another Botched V beam?

So long story short, I had thyroid cancer and two surgeries on my neck to remove my thyroid. I had a thin scar which my derm and surgeon injected a few shots of steroid in to help heal. I was told by my derm that the steroids caused the redness around my incision. The incision healed amazing, but there was slight redness which my derm recommended one round of V beam laser for. She said it was a super gentle laser and should only cause bruising. It started that way at first, but after about 2.5/3 weeks all my skin started to break down and now I have a large hole in my neck. Im absolutely distraught. The derm apologized and said theyve never seen this happen before and to just stick a hydrocolloid bandage on it and see how it heals. Has this type of wound happened to anyone else after the v beam laser?

Still not normal a year after fraxel damage

Hello! One year ago I had major damage from fraxel. Skin barrier completely destroyed, significant redness, esp with flushing.

I’ve had 6 v beams which have helped, but the progress is extremely slow.

I still have redness & flushing predisposition in very specific areas of my face that were most damaged by fraxel. It’s only on random parts of my cheeks and everywhere else is normal.

I’m just trying to understand if there are people who didn’t necessarily scar, but had damage similar to mine that took more than a year to recover. I want to know if I can still hope for full recovery.
