Int Books. How do they work?

Question is in the title, I keep finding these books with blessings, opening them is suppose to apply them, but my friends say their stats aren't increasing.

Am I misunderstanding these? Mind you they are like 6% buffs, but I thought maybe it'd affect something?

Legendary Tales: Does it get better?

Don't get me wrong, I was enjoying the game while it was catching, but it gets progressively boring as I move through it.

For context: I am at 17 hour mark. At the moment I have finished the Old Fort. I am level 31 while all the loot drops are level ~20. Everywhere I go there are same dark caves, zombies, skeletons and goblins. I heard it was Diablo-like, but I did not really expect it to take that boring repetitiveness of Diablo 1 that I played back in the day on PS1.

So, my questions/concerns are:

  1. Am I far into the game? Seeing how I have 11 achievements out of 30, I guess I am not. But it feels like I've spent a pretty long time in this game without anything interesting happening.

  2. Does the environment change? Is it dark caves throughout the entire game? Is there a light source like a torch that I can hold in dark areas? Does the enemy variety stops at skeletons and goblins?

  3. Is there a way to raise the loot level? I go through many difficult obstacles and jumps only to find that the golden unique item in the chest is 15 level below mine. Do I just recycle it and move on? I found a cool ass daedric dagger as a level 1 drop and I ran with it up to level 10 until I realized why my damage was so low.

Also, as I understand it, there is no way to craft armour? My armour is 10 levels below mine and I can't find anything higher, and then as a quest reward I got a level 33 headpiece for my level 30 character. Can't say I understand the loot logic. I died a few times at the beginning of the game, but how am I so overlevelled for the intended story progression?

  1. How do I find quest items for side quests? I have two unfinished quests in the Old Fort (find a memento item for a spirit and put goblin heads on totems) and I have no idea where I find them. All hallways and rooms are similar to each other, and there is no other direction than "It's somewhere in the Old Fort". I usually dislike overabundance of quest markers, but to just get rid of them, imo you have to make your environments navigable and your directions more clear. Clearing out an entire Fort again just to search for a tiny memento medal will only make me more overlevelled, and the quest reward most likely is an upgrade stone that I have a ~hundred of.

  2. And what the hell is this? (image attached) Why put an NPC where their Confirm button is always hidden behind something? How am I supposed to click it without physically crawling under the desk? We are not that close with Nevar for me to spend time at her feet, haha

I am still new to VR and I have a ton of other games to play, so I want to listen to people's opinions on Legendary Tales and have to decide if it's worth it to struggle through boredom and find a gem at the end of the way, or do I just drop it and go try out Grimlord or something.

Legendary tales crossplay?

So I've bought both of the copy's for my meta quest and ps5. However I can't connect to each others server to play together. Neither of us can see the others server.

Any one know what's up with that?
