Do you think I'm a bad person for shooting my shot 😅? Personally I think pain is a great teacher,... I guarantee he'll be tossing aside his makashi for a little soresu training after this.
Lost count how many times I whacked myself in the head learning these couple moves 😅 I’ve been practicing with single blade for a year or so now. Just started with this one last night. I don’t think it’s too bad for less than an hour messing with it. I want to get a good flow going with it. Super excited to keep practicing!
Practicing CQC with the Saber with quick blocks and strikes, but ofcourse easier to imagine than actually being in a closed space area. Definitely worked up a sweat! 🤘🤘

He probably needed the helmet more than me 😅
Hello! I was asked by a friend who’s in charge of planning 501st events at comic con in may, if I could be in charge of the lightsaber teaching class at the convention. I cosplay as Obi wan and Ben Kenobi and often do shows with showing accurate saber forms and training with looking flowing in my choreography.
In my spare time, I’ve only “taught” my younger brother and cousins how to strike, block, flourish and pose with lightsabers. I also practiced martial arts like kendo, bujinkan and HEMA (German longsword) and still remember so e of the basics in stances and dueling.
But I’ve never “officially” been a teacher or taught newcomers like this. I do take big respect for teaching, not it being perfect but being practical and most of all: FUN.
Any tips on what I could teach a group of 6-15 young padawans about? I don’t want to go to advanced but would like to include something they could try to do that advanced, like an Obi wan flourish.
All thoughts and opinions are welcome (I’ll include it as in my presentation as “teachings from other Jedi masters and Sith Lords”)
