Can we talk about why DreamLouis is important to Lestat's narrative?

So, we have more of DreamLouis showing up in Ep 5, and I was immediately struck by the differences between him and Lestat's other muses. DreamLouis sits quietly in the background watching Lestat when we first see him. He then moves up to stare at Lestat while Lestat tries to sing. He never says anything or taunts Lestat the way Nicki does. He is just there to stare contemplatively at Lestat, neither judging nor encouraging. He is there as Lestat needs him to be.

DreamLouis then smiles from a distance once Lestat has the hang of things and leaves, as he is not needed anymore. He is a calming presence for Lestat, unlike the other muses. He anchors Lestat. He brings him peace when everyone else brings him chaos.

I cannot express enough how much I loved that we got to see the way Lestat sees Louis. His mon cher. His beautiful calm in the storm.

Rule 7 against bringing drama from other social media sites

Hi all,

Just some mod housekeeping. We’ve expanded Rule 7 to include other IwtV or TVL subs. Please avoid making posts criticizing other subs; we want everyone to be welcome here, and mods from those subs are also members here. As well, many of us, including me, belong to and participate in all of the IwtV subs and do not want to set ourselves in opposition to them.

We understand that as our vampires get into conflicts with each other, fans of each vampire are also likely to have strong opinions on those conflicts. Feel free to make posts about anything Loustat or Jam related, but please avoid calling out specific posts or communities. We encourage you to use your DMs when you need to vent. :)

So over this dynamic (ep. 5)

I’m getting really tired of how one-sided Louis and Lestat’s relationship feels. I’ve seen people say Lestat doesn’t love Louis or hasn’t shown his love enough this season, but… has Louis really given him much to work with?

Yet here we are again with the same pattern. Despite everything that happened with the book and despite Louis never really apologizing, Lestat is the one who ends up showing up for him. Once again, he’s the one putting Louis first.

I’m honestly tired of seeing Lestat get the short end of the stick in this relationship. It’s way past time for Louis to step up and show Lestat the same level of care, loyalty, and grace that Lestat keeps giving him.

Since they’re apparently together again next episode, I’m really hoping Louis was the one who reached out, apologized for his selfish behavior (which he at least admitted to), and made the effort to repair things. I just want to see some balance for once.

Good grief, this love story can be exhausting. 😂 (I did crack up when Dan called them Travis and Taylor, though. 🤣)

This is why I dont go on the main subs

Aww poor Lestat always reaches out to mean Louis! First of all, these 2 haven't even had a major scene together since episode 2. Now everyone is all like their relationship is sooo one-sided! Lestat reaches out all the time to Louis and Louis only calls when he needs something. I can't with that TVL sub.

We may be getting very little Loustat right now, but let's appreciate how beautiful Louis looks in Lestat's narrative.

I mean, come ON. 🫠🥰😍🥵

Does anyone find it weird?

That they are both fixated/obsessed with their women relatives from the past?

Look I've been vocal about how much I've loathed these episodes so far(episode 3 was okay), but its truly fascinating that since they both can't be with or are mad at each other, they've gone to obsessing/fixating on Claudia/Gabrielle. It's truly weird disturbing.

Another weird thing, Louis was Lestat's most healthy relationship.

Hey, guys! Our little sub Felixir and I started a few months ago surpassed 2.5k followers this last week. Let's celebrate with a free-for-all post!

I remember when it was just Felixir and I on here, a subreddit of two. 😄

Anyway, post about anything Loustat/show-related. Your favorite Loustat scene. What you hope to see in a future episode. What you've liked this season or hated. Hell, if you just want to rant about the lack of Loustat in S3, I am ALL ABOUT IT. We are not getting nearly enough Louis and Lestat scene, and I am seriously pissed!

Thoughts?

Am I the only one in this fandom thinking Loustat should get couple counseling if we want to see them back together?

I just got into this series, and I am so in love with the characters, the storyline, the actors, and everything. Yet there is one problem...Loustat. Now, don't get me wrong on them, I love them, but they have their problems with each other. As much as we would love to see them back together, they need to talk about the problems that they have had with each other since season 1.

  1. Lestat (I love him so much) was possessive of Louis; he didn't like to share him with others, even being a peeping tom to him when he was reconnecting with a former lover of his while Lestat had a female lover while he was with Louis (Antoinette), Idk how vampire relationships work in Anne Rice's universe
  2. Lestat says I love you but Louis never said it back; he only said it to Armand
  3. Lestat always snaps (We know where he got it from)
  4. When they had their big fight...(oh god, that episode broke me)...Lestat dropped him from the sky...😭
  5. Always have disagreements
  6. Were always on and off it looks like when Louis was at the start of being a vampire
  7. They didn't discuss their coparenting ideas when Claudia came in (well, Louis was desperate to save her, and Lestat was reluctant to have her due to the Great Laws)
  8. Then Louis was sulking when Claudia ran away and focused less on Lestat, and then the big fight happened when Louis was planning to go with her and leave Lestat
  9. Then Louis tries to kill Lestat so he and Claudia can be free, yet Louis regrets it, and Lestat still loves him...Oh vampire love
  10. Also, the book is released, making Lestat look like the bad guy after they are finally talking to each other.

Well, I really want them back together since I see Gabriella being 'comfy' with Lestat, it's weird af, even vampire incest is weird. I have a feeling she's manipulating poor Lestat, and look at what he has become, yet a round of applause to Jennifer Ehle playing her. Also, shoutout to Jacob Anderson and Sam Reid slaying as Louis and Lestat.

Tbh, anyone can be perfect for Louis or Lestat, that's someone who isn't related to them. I know Anne Rice added that part to make the story interesting. Though there are always those OC x Canon and Yume x Canon stories, I love those also, I multiship, but not to incest, toxic, and underage.

Also, I love Loustat, but they need couple counseling sessions based on how they were with each other. What I love is that they reconnected about Claudia's death after Louis' interview with Daniel and Armand's real truth; it was so sweet. Also, Lestat teases Louis into visiting him, while Louis politely declines... but the book was published. Oh, I love those two. Yet heres what I am having when I am shipping them, I want Lestat to myself. I'M SORRY HE'S SO ATTRACTIVE, AND I LOVE HIM!!!! Yes, he's mean but iconic. Louis, I love you, but you need therapy. Tbh everyone in this show needs therapy, even David.
