I just booked my hotel for Summer Smash in Hammond, IN on a budget, but I’ve heard mixed things about the area safety-wise. I booked a Red Roof Inn and it’s about a 40-minute drive to SeatGeek Stadium with traffic.
The plan is basically just to sleep there for four nights after the festival and head back out during the day. For people familiar with the area, does this sound fine for the festival trip, or should I consider looking elsewhere?

Hey yall, I’m going solo to the festival and it’ll be my first time in Chicago as well. Been debating between using the shuttle vs bus/uber.

I’ll be staying at Hi Chicago so if I shuttle I’d likely take shuttle that leaves and drops me back at Jackson and Sangamon. Only thing I don’t like about the shuttle right now is that I have to choose my departure time now before set times are out (2p,4p, or 6p). Then on the way back after being dropped off I’d take an uber or walk 30 mins to my hostel (would the walk be safe at that time of night?)

Other option was to take a regular bus to the festival from my hostel (about an hour) and then on the way back, walk a mile or so and grab an uber or Lyft directly to my hostel. With this option i could leave when I want and go to the festival when I want. What’s the uber/lyft situation like if you walk a bit before trying to catch one when leaving ?

Any input or recommendations would be appreciated!

So me and my homie are going on Friday an i just want some tips to make this experience better for the past for years I been thinking about going to summer smash and with Uzi returning I don’t wanna miss it

1. If I want to see a certain artist how do I get close to the stage to see them really good!!?

2. What about parking it’s in the burbs so I’ll definitely be driving how much is parking there and is it easy to park in the brideview neighborhood ?

3. Is there food trucks lol imma be smoking so I need food

4. Is hoping the fence really that easy because I want to sneak in Sunday !!!

For the people who been there before what’s the best way to bring my posh and cart and do they take them if caught with it ?

this is my first time going to summer smash and we’re staying at the Midway cluster hotels. does anybody live nearby the stadium and would be willing to let us park for just Saturday? we’re only going one day
