Coffin Races/City Council

Watching the work session from May 12th...

they believe the event that has been going on for 30 years now is now at a huge risk for some kind of political/terrorist attack and has decided we need 1 cop for every 100 attendees. the cost on that is ridiculous and they are considering cancelling the event bc they cant guarantee safety/theyre worried about a lawsuit if something happens.

i think theyre bored narcissists who think they should be able to dictate the lives of others bc they dont have one of their own.

what are your thoughts?

City Council Meeting 05/19/2026

Here's a link to last night's meeting, for those of you who were unable to attend or are not yet aware of the subject matter:

We had well over an hour of public comment regarding the disgraceful and out-of-touch discourse regarding the Emma Crawford Coffin Races from last week's Council Work Session.

I was extraordinarily happy to see so many of my friends and neighbors turn out to speak their piece and push to keep the ship on course.

It takes each and every one of us working together to make our beautiful community flourish!

WE are Manitou Springs!
