Please clarify how this works.

A ‘runner’ or ‘users’ consciousness is transferred to their choice of Shell (player type, thief, medic, etc) and they adventure to the destination to complete contracts for the companies (Traxus, ACME, and so on).

When a runner exfiltrates, their mind/consciousness is transferred back to the person controlling the runner/shell. But all of the items/loot they collected would remain on the runner/shell correct? Why don’t players have to deposit all their looted/collected items at a transportation location to deliver all loot to the player or contract provider where ever they are located?
