Minifreak microphone screws onto device

So errrrr, the Minifreak microphone (included in vocoder edition or available separately) actually screws right on. There's threads just besides the power switch on the corner. Why haven't I made the connection before? Lol.

Just screw off the actual mic holder from the base plate, and onto the Minifreak. 2mm hex screws. Et voilà! Much better angle and reach, especially when you're using an angled stand.

Audio in ideas?💡

Hey all,
I was playing a bit the other day, wanting to effectively route the audio out of the minifreak (MF), through a guitar amplifier (guitar in), back (out of the amp’s fx loop) into the MF audio in port for effects and then out again. Effectively I wanted an FX loop between the oscillators and the FX of the MF. I didn’t find a way to do this, except using my microfreak (μf) as an oscillator, controlled by midi by the MF. The μF output then went into the audio in of the MF and it could be augmented with the oscillator 2, which was a surprisingly nice experience.
Question #1: Do you know of any way to do the “FX loop” thingy with the MF?
Question #2: Have you ever used an external synthesizer as a slave to the MF, and how was your experience with this? I’m thinking if this could cover the “it doesn’t sound like an analog synth” gap.
Question #3: Have you used the audio-in port in any other interesting ways?

I found a weird bug

So some times in different patches, playing fast or in ARP or SEQ mode, the sound changes, losing attack, voices and moving to the background as if a filter is applied somehow.

Sound stays like this longer, playing different notes may bring back the original sound, reloading the patch also resets the sound to normal.

The asterisk indicator next to the patch type (*) which shows that parameters have changed does not appear so its not a knob parameter change of any kind.

Anyone else noticed this?

Minifreak update script

EDIT, READ THIS FIRST : Arturia answered to my ticket, I can confirm that their script will not help you as it is given, because it checks for the combination of VendorID and ProductID, with the VendorID being HARDCODED into the DFU helper they use. So you can't use it to flash the minifreak in its DFU ST mode, as it uses a different VendorID. They will give me instructions on how to fix my unit on monday or tuesday, and if they allow me to share them I will document them in a separate post, so that this information exists publicly on the internet somewhere. Who knows, maybe one day arturia won't be there anymore to help you fix a bricked Minifreak, and that'd be a shame.

Heya all. Long story short my minifreak is bricked, like many others. But mine doesn’t have its guarantee, and support is unresponsive, so I opened it up and found out you can force it into DFU mode. Yipee. But now what ? minifreak V doesn’t see it in this state (different vendor ID since not the arturia bootloader) and dfu util only sees the two main processors, but the firmware actually flashes 5 other UI elements.

All that to say, if anyone has the script they give to users to bypass the minifreak V, I’d be happy to get it from you, as it may hold the key to this.

Can I use the Minifreak as a midi controller ONLY for VSTs in Ableton?

I'm loving the Minifreak in Ableton, but I also use Vital and a couple of Ableton's stock synths quite a bit and I'd like to be able to use the Minifreak as a midi keyboard for them. Is there a way to do this? I'm pretty new to Ableton, so am I missing something simple? I've been looking around on Reddit and YouTube, but no one is describing how to set up the exact workflow I'm looking for.
