Need advise

Hi mga ka mommy! Need ko sana nang advice nyo. My 1-year-and-6-month-old son was diagnosed with pneumonia last July. It wasn’t severe, so his pedia prescribed medication for 1 week. However, after a week, it seemed like he still wasn’t getting better. We had another chest X-ray done, and the result still showed pneumonia.
We decided to change pediatricians, and the new pedia prescribed another medication for around 10 days. Unfortunately, until now, our baby still doesn’t seem to be improving.

Do you think we should consult a pulmonologist? Or is there anything else we should have checked? Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! 🙏

my niece is fighting other kids

How do you discipline your kids? I’ve been raising her since she was 2 years old.

Her adviser messaged me today, saying that she has been fighting with other kids and even tinapon niya yung lunch ng kaklase niya. She's only 6 years old, and she's also the only kid in our house.

I don't know how she learned to do this kasi never naman siya minaltrato sa bahay. Hindi rin siya kailanman pinagbuhatan ng kamay. She always gets what she wants whenever she wants something. She also took some of her adviser's food supplies from the classroom.

I don't know what to do with her kasi she's never like this at home. Wala rin siyang kaaway dito, so I never really had to discipline her too harshly because she's generally well-behaved at home. Marunong din siyang makinig sa akin. When I ask her to draw or watch something, nakikinig naman siya.

Sometimes, when I ask her about school, vague lang yung mga sinasabi niya sa akin. She already knows how to hide things well. There was one time when she told me about fighting with other kids. Nagalit ako sa kanya—not to the point na galit na galit, but I sounded disappointed. Pinagsabihan ko siya na huwag nang gawin ulit.

But most of the time, she watches Minecraft videos. Maybe I should limit her screen time.

Tell me, mommies, paano niyo ba pinagsasabihan or dinidisiplina yung mga anak niyo? I'm worried that whenever I ask her how things went at school, she'll just hide these bad things from me again.

I’m really not ready to be a parent pa lalo na nagaaral ako tapos bulok pa sistema sa pilipinas and as much as possible gusto ko matapos muna studies ko. Pwede ko ba ipa-adopt to if ever? Hoping to get some helpful advices and not some lesson.

Kelan ang perfect time to ask for an epidural?

Hi mommies! FTM here currently 35wks, ask ko lang kasi Im opting for the epidural sa delivery ni baby. During labor, when ba sya nire-request? Like, may specific ba na cm to ask na magpaepidural na?

Ask ko na lang din if ang dinala nyo bang damit ni baby sa hospital is baru-baruan or okay lang na onesies? May nabasa ksi ako na baruan dw since dahil sa pusod ni baby pero may ibang moms na onesies naman dw dinala nla for convenience. Im confused if ano ba tlaga ddalhin ko since nakabili na ako ng onesies.

When it comes to finding a pedia for baby ba when naman magstart? Dapat ba nagka-appointment na kami sa magiging pedia ni baby before delivery?

Also, bukod ba sa hospital fees during delivery may mga addtl pa bang bnabayaran?

Thank you so much po

DIAPER BAG RECO (travelling for the FIRST time with my toddler-22months by then)

I personally travel a lot but I know its totally different when you have a baby or toddler so now im looking for the perfect diaper bag 😭 I know its kinda late to buy one but I really want something with a stroller attachment like yung may buckle that you can easily attach to the stroller

now im contemplating what to get between **SKIPHOP**, **BAGSMART** or **MAMBOBABY** 😭 please enlighten me moms hahaha ive been scrolling and comparing for a few weeks now and I still cant decide what to buy 😩 I just want something thats really worth it especially for traveling with a baby. I was also considering the Lululemon parent backpack or diaper backpack but as a practical mom parang yung amount na yun ipangbibili ko nalang ng thermals and winter clothes since we’ll be traveling during winter 😭 so yeah thats also making the decision harder hahaha

My husband has become distant since finding out I’m pregnant. I feel like I’m no longer loved by my partner.

Ever since my husband found out I was pregnant, I feel like he’s become distant. We barely communicate, and I don’t feel the same love and affection from him anymore. I feel like I’m going through this pregnancy emotionally alone.

I still love him and I still want us to have a complete family, but I’m honestly scared that I’m losing my partner while becoming a mother.

For the pregnant women or moms here—did you experience something similar? Did your partner become distant during pregnancy? What did you do, and did things eventually get better?

I’d really appreciate some honest insights because I don’t know if I’m overthinking this or if something is genuinely wrong.

I just wanted my daughter to eat

I never thought I would have to write something like this.

Last Sunday, at NAIA Terminal 3, I found myself standing in a restaurant arguing with a manager because my 8-year-old daughter just wanted to eat.

My daughter has ASD and significant eating difficulties. She has a very limited range of food that she can tolerate, and we are working through this with therapy. If you are a parent of a child with eating difficulties, you know that sometimes getting them to eat is not as simple as saying, “There are other options.”

Because of the storm and our delayed flight, she had already missed lunch.

We bought her a tonkatsu from another restaurant because that was something she could eat.

We then went to Nanyang.

And we ordered.

2 chicken rice
1 laksa fishball
1 kaya toast
1 yuzu
1 honey lemon

We were paying customers. Our daughter was quietly eating her food.

Then a manager approached us and told us we had to leave because Nanyang does not allow outside food and because they are halal certified and could be audited.

I immediately explained that the food was for my daughter. I told them she has ASD and significant eating difficulties.

I explained that this wasn't us casually bringing our own meal into a restaurant. This was our child finally being able to eat after missing lunch.

The response remained that they could not accommodate outside food because they might be audited.

Another manager suggested that we take our daughter's food downstairs to a common area with tables and chairs.

I was already overwhelmed and upset. I told her I didn't need her opinion.

I know I was angry. I know I could have handled parts of that conversation better. I am not pretending I was perfectly calm.

But I was a mother standing there trying to feed my child.

And what hurt me most was that once they knew she was a child with ASD and eating difficulties, I didn't feel like anyone stopped to ask, “How can we handle this?”

It felt like the policy became more important than the child sitting in front of them.

To be clear, I understand that restaurants have rules.

I understand that Nanyang has halal certification and has obligations it needs to follow.

I am not asking a restaurant to compromise its halal requirements.

But I am asking a very simple question:

When a child with a disability has a specific food she can eat, and her parents are already paying customers, is there really no way to consider a reasonable accommodation?

That is the part I cannot let go of.

I have lived and worked in Singapore. I have always associated kopitiam culture with community, practicality and inclusivity. So this experience was particularly heartbreaking for me.

Afterward, I contacted Nanyang because I wanted to resolve this privately.

The branch responded by explaining their halal certification and apologizing “if” their actions or words caused us to feel offended or unwelcome.

But that still didn't answer my main question.

What was considered for my daughter after they knew she had ASD?

What accommodation was considered?

Was there actually a halal requirement that made accommodation impossible, or was the outside-food policy simply enforced without considering her disability?

Those are the questions I am asking.

I am sharing this because I don't want another parent to stand where I stood last Sunday, with a hungry child who has already struggled to eat, being told that the only solution is to take her food somewhere else.

I am not asking people to attack Nanyang.

I am asking for accountability, clarity and compassion.

And as a mother, I hope that maybe this can start a bigger conversation about how establishments handle children with disabilities.

Because sometimes, it isn't about the food.

Sometimes, a mother is just trying to get her child to eat.

Losing interest in everything 😢

Hi mommies, normal pa ba ’tong nararamdaman ko? I’m slowly losing interest in everything.

I feel like I’m back to zero.

Referral please for a kasambahay

Hi nanays out there, I need your help.

I currently have a yaya. When I’m home, I take care of my daughter while she handles laundry, ironing, and cleaning at her own pace. When my daughter is at my parent's house, she's not doing anything (daughter is taken care of by my parents) except if my mom asked to do minimal cleaning. Cooking is minimal (she’s only done talbos ng kamote and steamed tofu so far since we usually just do takeout). I honestly don’t mind if she takes her time or even spends some time on her phone, as long as the work gets done before I leave for work (which is sometimes not the case).
What I can no longer tolerate is the disrespect.
There was an incident where my daughter asked for snacks on the way home. When I asked the yaya why she told me there were no more snacks from school (when there actually were in the lunchbox), she didn’t answer and just changed the topic to my daughter’s new bag. I had to reiterate that she should always check and bring snacks in case my daughter gets hungry, something I’ve already told her before when she forgot essential things. I couldn’t check myself at the time because I was driving.
Another time, while I was busy on my phone, she “sshhht” me when she was asking something.
She doesn’t acknowledge her mistakes, doesn’t say sorry, and doesn’t even say thank you. Because of the constant stress, I even had to hire a driver just so I can drop my daughter off at my parents’ house after school coz I no longer trust her alone with my daughter.I heard her say tanga and buang in front of my daughter and reprimanded her for it.
I’m a tired and stressed mom looking for a better arrangement. If any of you have a good yaya (or know someone reliable, respectful, and good with a young child), please help a momma out. Referral would be greatly appreciated. Daughter usually has school in the morning and with my parents after school.
Thank you 🙏

BIRTH COST MAKATI MED / SLMC BGC

I’m considered a high-risk pregnancy, and my OB is giving me an estimated cost of ₱550,000 for the entire procedure, including the hospital bill and all professional fees for the doctors.

Is it reasonable? This price range is the same either MAKATI MED or SMLC.
