Stereo Drums (Production Question)
Does anyone know how Alex gets those stereo drum sounds in his earlier work, like in "What if I go" and "Move me". Like when a drum hit plays in both the left and right ear at the same time, yet you don't interpret it as in the centre, but actually as left and right at the same time. I tried panning a kick left and right in my DAW, but it just registered as a central kick, summing the volume of both stereo channels. So the same kick but louder and still in the centre. A fix I tried was slightly delaying the kick in one of the channels while leaving the other one unchanged. It kind of worked but still didn't have the same effect. I also tried changing the pitch of one of the kicks but still had no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
