Brooklyn Steel - Preferred Terrace

A show at Brooklyn Steel is selling GA tickets and "Preferred Terrace" tickets.

Preferred Terrace is the slightly elevated, fenced off area on house right (facing the stage). Lower level of venue, not the balcony level.

Is Preferred Terrace a better view than GA? How full does the venue fill that section - how many people deep does that section get?

Why don’t artists upgrade venues?

Just saw Grace Ives is going for $300 fucking dollars resale, whereas tickets for her in other cities are only $25. Clearly the venue she’s playing isn’t big enough for the demand, so why doesn’t she upgrade? Seems so stupid to shut out so many people from seeing someone who’s only pulling 500k monthly listeners on spotify.

Springsteen - MSG Saturday night - last minute single ticket?

Considering a last minute trip to NYC this weekend - do last minute MSG tickets ever get discounted to below face value? Hotels and flights are booked but would likely have to lock in tomorrow (Wed) night and Springsteen would be a big reason for coming atm otherwise was leaning on canceling.

I don’t really care about the seat or getting in late just not really sure if you can get tickets once the show starts like in some cities.

ISO Flea @ Webster Hall, 1 ticket

EDIT: Found a ticket directly from ticketmaster. They released some non-resale GA tix this afternoon! Scams averted! Mods - feel free to close this one!

I’m a dummy and found out about this show after tix had already sold out. Looking for an extra. Would be very grateful.

If your reddit history has nothing about nyc, music or concert-going in NY and other cities, I will assume you're a scammer.

Anyone selling a Slide Away Saturday ticket below face value?

Looking for one ticket to go to Slide Away at Brooklyn Paramount on Saturday 5/16.

Ticketmaster released more GA tickets so it's not sold out. I've seen a few listings on 3rd party ticket websites that are priced below face, even with fees, but I'd love to avoid paying the fees as much as you'd love to avoid them taking a percentage of your proceeds.

If you're trying to sell at a mark-up, keep walking... but if you have an extra and you're trying to avoid it going to waste for the whole price, message me.

Trying to sell St. Vincent with the New York Philharmonic on 7/2. Can no longer go :(

Hello! Not sure if this is allowed here but I bought a ticket in the rush to get a seat before it sold out and I forgot I’ll be away for vacation. Would love to give another fan the chance to go as it is sold out. Asking for the $90 I spent and can transfer the ticket digitally via the New York Philharmonic website. You would just have to make a profile with the site. Lmk if you are interested!

Ticket Inflation Is A Serious Problem In All Genres Rn - From a NY Concert Enthusiast

I know I’m probably beating a dead horse with a stick, but I also have genuine examples of this being ridiculous and as someone who has been going to Concert for 10+ years, it actually hurts how bad it’s gotten.

I’ve been seeing The Story So Far every year pretty consistently since 2015 and I’ve always acknowledge that they’re never gonna be the same band that was performing at small bar stages and what not. In 2022 I saw them with Joyce Manor on their tour and at terminal five for $52 and it really was an awesome show. However, flash forward to 2026 and I just got tickets for their tour they just announced and it’s literally going to be at the same venue at terminal five with artists I am going to be frankly honest I’ve never heard of (not that this is a problem) for $65. There’s no way the show is going to be that much different from what I saw in 2022 that there’s that much of a hike up lol and that’s just me being honest.

I first noticed the inflation be becoming an issue in 2023. My friend invited me to a Pierce The Veil/The Used concert at the Rooftop Pier/Pier 17. The concert was $80 which I was baffled about because I have never spent more than $55 to see either of those acts live on their headliners. Not to mention that Pierce the Veil had a 10 song set list, where two of those songs were interludes. For this tour, PTV was supposed to perform first before The Used, but since New York had two shows they switched it for this night. Pierce the Veil closed out, but because they had basically a seven song playlist the show literally ended like 30 minutes early. You couldn’t even tell who was performing (unless you knew the music) because they didn’t even have a flag or a backdrop where you could tell. I can’t lie in this moment that I felt robbed of my money because I think the band has been around long enough that there’s no reason they couldn’t have added like three or four surprise songs to fit the time a lot.

I also felt robbed because back in 2016, I also saw a Pierce the Veil with Neck Deep and I Prevail opening for $55 at Hammerstein. Not to mention, Pierce the Veil did an awesome set where they came in with this crazy animated intro, they changed their backdrop three times, and they had a really good set list too prepared for the fans to love.

It’s weird to live in a time where concerts are becoming really inaccessible in all genres. But I can’t lie it especially hurts to see it happening in alternative music because the concerts being accessible were what made it so special. All throughout college I used to brag about how I spent more money on like a formal dress than I did on a total of three concert concerts in a semester lol. When I saw how much it is to see All Time Low NOW, in addition to the meet and greet package was insane. There’s no way you’re gonna have me pay $300 in total to see a bunch of guys with receding hairlines still singing about how they’re “the youth of today”.

I’m open to what other people have seen as well! I just think it’s interesting times we are living and that’s for sure

emo/screamo adjacent this Wednesday in NYC

C86’d DIY Vol. 20: Sometimes the stars align - local and out of town friends are coming together for one of the heaviest C86’d shows yet!

Decimation, Verse Vs the Virus, 300, and Seven Crimson Suns reached out about doing a show together in NYC while this alone was enough for a real banger, spanning sounds from death metal to posi-metalcore, the icing on the cake is this show fell into place with two touring southern hardcore heavy hitters!

My Sword! My Sword! (members of fingerswoventogether) will bring their Florida mathcore to NYC. A mix of power and technical intensity, balanced with beautiful emotional melodic interludes, that will have you dancing just moments into their set .

Tennessee Grindcore, FRIDGE , will round out this bill with some speed & breakdowns to keep everyone smiling all night.

Vs Verse the Virus & Seven Crimson Suns need no introduction as some of the strongest metalcore coming out of Jersey in recent years!

NYC’s own Decemation (members of Shimmering) will bring a new flavor to our camp with intense death metal straight out of the early 90s. Alongside them, 300 is all fun times and heavy riffs with members of Grimlitter, Beautiful, Verse Vs. the Virus, 7CS, and more.

Come hang & dance all night.

* set order is yet to be determined*

This is an awesome lineup and I was really looking forward to going and supporting a new fest. I bought a 2-day pass but now I'm going to be out of state and can't make it. Anyone wanna go? Let me know and I'll let 'em go for less than what I paid.
