Flamingo or Virgin?

I am doing a solo trip to Vegas to see a show at the sphere--I'm probably a bit too excited to travel alone but something about the adventure of it seems fun. I've stayed at Park MGM 2x before and love it for the price point that we paid at that time. I dream of Aria and Cosmo too and aspire to stay there in the future when I can split the cost with my boyfriend. However the weekend (a Thurs-Sat) that I am going MGM prices are crazy high so seeking alternate options. I just cant get behind Luxor or Excalibur -- the internet has done me dirty with the reviews (sorry fans).

Since its just me I am not planning on going buck wild (I say that now) I am looking for a moderately priced and.clean place to stay with a good pool to spend a few hours at before the show. I'm also looking to have some fun and not just be silent the entire time.

The options that the internet and Tik Tok have lead me to are the Virgin Hotel (big fan of the brand). Even though its off strip it looks to have just enough going on that its not a complete snooze. I can always uber to the strip from there.

The Flamingo crossed my radar because of its location on the strip. Reviews are mixed but seems the Flamingo rooms (not GO) rooms might also fit the bill with the trade off being location.

Thoughts? Any other suggestions? What am I not thinking about.
