Final submission disaster at NTU and I’m spiralling — what can I even do now?

Hi everyone, I really need advice because I’m completely spiralling right now.

I’m a 3rd year graphic design student at Nottingham Trent and today was my final submission. While I was uploading my portfolio, my laptop started having major internet issues — the connection kept dropping, and then the laptop literally died mid‑upload. It wouldn’t turn back on for a while, and when it finally did, all my files were separated and I had to rebuild everything. I managed to submit something on time, but it was basically a half‑done portfolio because of the technical failure.

I emailed Student Admin straight away, and they replied saying that because I submitted something before the deadline, that version will be marked. They said I can upload more work now, but it will only be looked at if my original submission fails — and if they use the late work, it will be capped. They also said I can’t request an extension because I already submitted something, and that laptop/internet issues wouldn’t have been accepted anyway.

I’m honestly freaking out and this whole situation has pushed me into a really bad spiral. I don’t even feel like I can tell my parents because I’m scared it’ll make everything worse. I don’t know what to do or what my chances are. My original submission was incomplete, and I’m terrified it’s going to fail and then everything will be capped.

Has anyone been through something like this at NTU? Does the exam board ever take technical issues into account? But I don’t have any screenshots. Is there anything I can do besides wait until September? I feel completely lost and overwhelmed and would really appreciate any advice or reassurance.

Accomodation

Im going through clearing and starting in September. Im considering either Simpsons or Gill Street North or South, with the benefits of Simpsons being I can park my car. Gill Street has no parking so Id have to leave my car at my house 3-4 hours away. Basically, is it worth having a car in Nottingham from the perspective of a student?

NTU Clifton students living in city centre, do you regret the Uni 4 every day?

Starting at NTU Clifton this September and looking for an ensuite.

Clifton would obviously make 9ams easier but most of the city centre options look better for going out and just having stuff around.

UniAcco actually asked which campus my course was on before sending rooms, then gave me both Clifton and city options instead of treating all NTU accom the same.

The Uni 4 looks fine on paper but I can’t tell if doing it twice a day gets annoying by November.

Anyone living in city centre and commuting to Clifton now, would you choose city again or just stay near campus?
