Shoes Still Dirty After Cleaning

Looking for help!

Bought tennis shoes (Cloudrunner 3) a few weeks ago. They got dirty, I cleaned them, no issues. Yesterday, I went to clean them again, and they looked completely clean however as they started the dry..I noticed these dirty brown spots pop up.

The first clean I did I used one of those shoe cleaning kits with the liquid and then using a stiff brush. Once I saw they were still dirty, I used a stiff brush but this time using laundry detergent as the cleaning agent.

Same thing happened. It looked clean once I was done but then when it started drying..it got dirty again.

Anyone have any advice? I don’t know why this is happening.

Finally got the Cloudtilts

I tried on at the store but got better deal online, these are really comfortable but they have less stability than the Kayano14 since I’m a pronator I still evaluating

Speed Pack 30L AliExpress

Hey all. If this isn’t allowed, please delete. But I’m a recent an On Running convert, and the Speed Packs caught my eye. But they’re $230 CAD, which with tax comes up to about $260. Of course, with surveillance pricing and shopping, AliExpress moved the duplicate bags with blurred logos to the my front page. And with the recent sales, it came out to be about $60 (25%Rakuten, AliExpress coupons, and PayPal discount) so I thought I’d give it a try. Now, I don’t have a legit bag to compare it to, but it looks like an AliExpress Aer quality duplicate, meaning good. Would recommend at 1/4 the cost of the legit version.

Cloud 6’s

I just bought the normal cloud 6’s and they feel nice. But my big issue is that the side of the insole like folds a bit into the side of my foot. I’m worried that the pressure could lead to pain or if I’m just worrying too much. I do believe I can get a wide if that solves the issue. I was just curious if that is normal.

My ON shoes collect rocks and sticks everywhere I walk

I actually really like these shoes, but this drives me insane. Because of the way the soles are designed, rocks get perfectly wedged in the bottom while I’m walking sometimes. Usually I have to stop and pull them out once I notice.

Today I apparently upgraded from collecting rocks to collecting entire sticks.

Great shoes. Questionable rock collection feature.

My first New Balance purchase turned into a really disappointing experience

I’m posting this because I genuinely expected much better from New Balance.

This was actually my first New Balance purchase, and I was really excited about it. I bought a pair of New Balance 1080 Infinion shoes from a New Balance store in Glasgow, UK. The original price was around £170, and I purchased them for £119 during a promotion.

I bought them mainly because I needed a comfortable pair of shoes for work. My work involves being on my feet and walking for long periods, so I specifically chose New Balance expecting good comfort and support.

Unfortunately, after wearing them only a few times, I started experiencing pain around my heel area. I initially thought maybe I just needed to get used to the shoes, so I tried wearing them again. But the discomfort continued.

So I went back to the Glasgow store and explained the problem to the store manager. I wasn’t demanding anything unreasonable — I simply wanted them to properly listen to the issue and see whether there was a possible solution, such as an exchange or another option.

Instead, I felt like I was completely dismissed. The manager basically told me that he couldn’t do anything and gave me the customer care number, asking me to contact them.

I then contacted New Balance customer care and explained the entire situation. Unfortunately, their response was essentially that I had to go back to the store.

I explained that:

  • I had already visited the store.
  • I had already spoken to the manager.
  • The store had refused to help me and directed me to customer care.
  • I was no longer in Glasgow because I had been there for work and had subsequently returned to India.

Despite explaining all of this, I was still told to deal with the store.

I even contacted them again after returning to India, hoping there might be some way they could help given the circumstances. But I received essentially the same response.

What disappoints me the most isn’t even just the shoes. It’s the way the whole situation was handled.

This was my first New Balance purchase, and I was genuinely excited about trying the brand. I chose New Balance because of its reputation for comfortable footwear. Instead, I ended up with a pair of shoes I couldn’t comfortably use and a customer service experience where I felt like nobody was actually interested in understanding the problem.

I understand that stores have return/exchange policies, and I’m not expecting special treatment. But when a customer reports a genuine comfort/product issue after only a few uses, I believe there should at least be some effort to properly assess the situation rather than simply passing the customer from the store to customer care and back again.

I’m posting this here because I would genuinely like to know:

Has anyone else had a similar experience with New Balance, particularly with their UK stores or customer service?

And if anyone from New Balance happens to see this, I would really appreciate it if someone could actually look into my case rather than sending me back to the same store that already refused to help.

I still have the purchase receipt and the shoes, and I can provide the relevant details if required.

Honestly, I really wanted my first New Balance purchase to be a good experience. It’s disappointing that it turned out this way

Legit check on these On Cloud shoes? (No box)

Hey everyone, I’m looking to buy these On Clouds from a local seller, but they don't come with the original box and I want to make sure they are authentic before pulling the trigger.

Cloudsurfer Max is really good!

Picked these up on discount from Nordstrom. Wanted these because every review on YouTube said they are kind firm and not bouncy pillowy. That is what I need dealing with injured knees. I don’t plan on running in these just “recovery”. I found out for me, the other max cushion shoes (I have all of them) actually make my knee recovery worse being too soft. The cloudsurfer is a perfect balance between stable and cushioned. The only issue with them is the heel collar is not as snug as I would like. I replaced the insoles with Move insoles, and it helped greatly with heel slip. I highly recommended and I never had On sneakers.

How long will Cloud tilt shoes last?

Hi everyone. As the title says, I’d like to know how you’ve found the Cloudtilt in terms of durability over time. I’m thinking about getting a pair, and they’d be my first On shoes, but I’m a bit hesitant about how well they hold up, since I’ve heard mixed opinions. Also, is the squish issue still a thing?

I wouldn’t wear them every day, just a few times a week, maybe to work, where I don’t have to move around or walk too much. Since I’d have them anyway, though, I’d also use them during a trip I have planned for September, where I’ll be doing quite a bit of walking for three days.

I currently have the Vomero 18 Plus, which I find much more comfortable, but they’re too tall and there’s a risk of rolling your ankle because they’re just too soft.

Cloumonster 3 Hyper for $15.

I had a credit for $205 after I bought a pair of leaky Cloud 6’s so I decided to grab these after wearing my new Cloudrunners for awhile.

I’m new to running and plan on some short runs this weekend. Does anyone have any experience with these with a slight over pronation ?

These look great and feel good while walking around.

buying my partner his first pair of ON shoes

hi guys! my partner has been raving about wanting a pair for so long, about a year now. for context, he's a public servant and he's always on his feet, on the ground, walking. he says most of the people in his line of work wear ON shoes.

it's his birthday soon and last year he showed me that he wanted to buy the cloudmonster 3 in white, but i saw a bunch of negative reviews on it. does anyone have any recommendations for comfortable shoes? he's not a runner but he walks a LOT.

thanks for the help guys!

edit: also wanted to ask, i want the shoes to be a surprise so i dont want to ask him what his shoe size is LOL but last year when i gifted him shoes he said he's a 10.5-11! do ON sizes run small/big? there's no physical store where i live so i'm just ordering online and would love to know your suggestions on sizing haha

Cloudrunner 3 sizing is completely different from Cloudrunner 2, really frustrating online shopping experience

My wife has been wearing the Cloudrunner 2 for a while and really likes them, so I ordered her the Cloudrunner 3 online in the same size, US 6.

After waiting almost two weeks for them to arrive, we found out that the sizing is completely different. The Cloudrunner 3 in size 6 is much smaller than the Cloudrunner 2 in size 6 and doesn’t fit at all.

I really didn’t expect this from the same brand and the same shoe line, especially just one generation apart. Now after waiting two weeks, I have to return them and order another size.

Pretty bad online shopping experience. If you’re switching from the Cloudrunner 2 to the Cloudrunner 3, don’t assume the same size will fit.
