I will be coming to Magdeburg in October 2026 and searching for accomodation preferably studio-1 room apartment with city registration possible.

Basically the title , came here late in the semester so couldn't attend much lectures, now I'm in my dorm room alone and nowhere to be. Anyone else feeling the same ? We could talk and see how it goes.
I'm a male, 28, south asian, working part time, like to go on walks, play guitar, would love to go on hikes and cycling too.

After many rejections, I finally got an acceptance from OVGU! Now I am choosing between there and the University of Warsaw. Keep your hopes up, everyone!

Hello, I have applied for OVGU Magdeburgs Bsc Computer Science course, the Billingual programme. I applied around end of June, and haven't recieved any response so far. Since I'm a non-EU student it is going to be difficult if I don't recieve an admit within the next week or so- as my visa process would take too long.

My question is whether anybody else has recieved a response or an admit for the course.

I'm aware other BSc programmes have recieved admits but I dont know what is taking this course so long.

Similar situation for Saarland university.

Please let me know if anybody else is getting any responses from either of the Universities!

Hallo everyone, I got accepted to study financial economics (PLEASE if you know someone who did it or is doing it PLEASE TEXT ME) and I'm wondering how social Magdeburg is.

A bit of context: I'm 27 from Italy, I am a very active and extrovert guy, I hike/montaneering (so I'm gonna pick up climbing probably), I love board games but also clubbing from time to time, etc

How easy it is to make new friends in the city? My german is, well, getting better I guess but not good enough for german based friendships

How easy it is to get mini job while speaking english or not very good german?

Internships? I'm talking to my economics people now, how hard it is to get nice interships with the university (or without?) in english?

I’ll be moving to Magdeburg at the end of September (starting my studies at OVGU) and I’m looking for a place to stay: either a studio apartment or a room in a WG (female flatmates only), up to 360€ all-inclusive (Warmmiete). A friend of mine has applied for the following Master’s programs for the Winter Semester 2026/27:

• OVGU Magdeburg – M.Sc. Business Economics

He is currently waiting for the admission decisions.

I wanted to ask:

• When do these universities usually send out admission/offer letters?
• Has anyone already received an admission letter for any of these three programs for Winter 2026/27?

I have shortlisted OVGU Magdeburg’s BiBa C.S & HFU Furtwangen’s IBS program..., but I am confused about which to choose
