Birth Certificate Change (Lucas Co.)

Hey y’all. In light of Ohio’s supremely annoying and f*cked decision to remove the ability for trans folks to change their drivers license without a passport or birth certificate, I’ve decided I think I want to update my birth certificate to male. Not something I really cared to do but if they’re going to be annoying, I’m going to do this to spite them and just have all my shit match just in case, I guess…. All of my other docs have been changed for ages including updated passport I took the opportunity to do last year while the injunction was active for that executive order.

Having to do this in Lucas Co since I’m unable to do it in my home county of Hamilton, and looking to see if anyone has any guidance on filling out this paperwork for LUCAS county.

Also curious if you’ve had your application restricted from public access, what you included as exhibits/evidence for that—- and if you were able to restrict public access to the change purely due to the political climate or something similar. I’m not exactly someone who’s attracted to being stealth for safety reasons normally, or been affected by DV or anything else relating to my transness that would impact my safety more obviously, but I’d love to have this sealed to prevent future headaches and I think we all have a good case to seal it with the political climate.. just not sure if that’s realistic legally as a defense.

Anyways. Thanks for reading! If yall know any info I’d appreciate it.

Form used to change gender marker on state-issued IDs no longer accepted in Ohio

Transgender Ohioans who want to update the gender indicated on their driver’s licenses or state IDs can no longer do that with a form that’s been used for seventeen years. And the state’s leading LGBTQ+ advocacy group says that’s a sudden and cumbersome change.

Equality Ohio said it found out Tuesday that the declaration of gender change form signed by a medical or mental health provider that's been in use since 2009 will no longer be accepted by the Bureau of Motor Vehicles to change a gender marker.

New here so sorry if this has been asked before. But, I am looking to not keep things repressed anymore and have been looking for a place to discuss my gender identity in a safe and respectful environment. Thank you in advance.

Have you successfully made friends as an adult?

Have you made friends as an adult that's not from work or college? If so where did you meet and do you still see each other regularly. I feel like everyone already has their groups. I want to become a regular somewhere but I just got a new job that makes it difficult

Good therapists in Cleveland area?

I relocated to Cleveland recently, and I need to find a therapist in the area, preferably on the east side. Do any of you have any recommendations? I don’t have any specific needs, I just need to find a therapist who’s OK with queer folks. I’ve had enough bad experiences with doctors and therapists in my life, that I’d rather work with someone who is explicitly LGBTQ+ friendly.

Where did cincy queers go?

Genuine question- why does it feel like everyone left for Chicago or Columbus? I feel like there was a point in time a few years ago when Cincy was so vibrant/unique but now the nightlife is scary.

Lgbtq based clothing repairs and alterations

Hello! I made a post a couple months ago asking if there was a need for tailoring services for LGBTQ people in the area and the response was pretty receptive!

I am finally settled from my move, and Im ready to take on some repairs and simple alterations! I have been sewing since i was 5 years old, and its so hard for us queer people to find clothing that actually fits us, and I want to make that possible!

Here are some examples of my work, shoot me a dm and I can send some of my info! I would like to focus on my fellow trans and other lgbtq people for now though :)

Want to hangout with a socially awkward couple?

Couple settling in Ohio, in our early thirties. Looking for friends that wanna hangout and vibe. We’re homeless and sick of being lonely and in the car 24/7. We are looking for somewhere to rent/stay but haven’t had any luck yet. We smoke, I drink occasionally, we like games and movies. Both bi. He’s cis, I’m a trans girl. I have other labels I like to throw around too depending on spice level. Left Alabama because roommates were harassing me and the whole damn states prejudice.

hey all, im candi, 23, and im wondering if anyone has any experience with the soical twist gay bar in Cleveland, cuz i wanna go there at some point in the next few weeks and im a nervous wreck cuz i haven't gone there before. im curious, has anyone had any fun experiences that they would like to share with me? note: i will be carrying safety with me like a drink cover, pepper spray, and a birdie alarm with self defense packed into my night. this is my first time ever going to a gay bar as i don't go to gay bars very much, and im curious of exploring that type of setting for the first time.

also for further context, ima abrosexual trans woman and im most likely just overworrying about saftey too much from being told by family that im gonna die

Safe and Accepting End of Life Care

My name is Kara and I am a geriatric nurse in the final year of geriatric NP program. I am looking for one more private care client at this time.

I’m especially interested in what I think often gets lost in elder care: the person themselves. I love learning someone’s history, looking through photographs, hearing their stories, reading together, getting out of the house when possible, and helping them stay connected to the parts of life that still feel like theirs.

If you know of anyone who could use my assistance please feel free to reach out!
