Opening a coffee shop soon—what are your absolute favorite "daily driver" espresso blends?

Hey everyone, I’m in the middle of planning a new coffee shop project and I’m working on sourcing beans for our menu. Before we start ordering wholesale samples, I want to test what the community actually loves drinking every day.

What are your top 2 or 3 favorite roasters or specific blends for standard espresso and milk drinks (latte/cappuccino)? I’m looking for consistency, great crema, and crowd-pleasing profiles (think rich chocolatey, nutty, or balanced sweet notes).

Bonus points if the roaster does commercial wholesale partnering! Thanks for the help.

What have you been brewing this week?

This weekly thread invites you to share what coffee you've been brewing, ask for bean recommendations, and talk about your favorite roasters. Taste notes, gear details, and links are welcome—self-promotion is fine as long as it's transparent.

A simple pour over calculator

In one of Brian Quan’s video I saw he used a very simple brew calculator on his phone, use the phone calculator all the time and thought this could be improved.

So I built a simple pour-over dedicated calculator. It’s free, with no login required. It also has an iPhone version.

Would love to hear your thoughts, I will keep updatinging for better ux and features.

Happy Saturday Espresso

Did a little video of the morning espresso with the naked portafilter. Sagada Arabica, medium roast

Monday Morning Pour-Over to start the day

Tasting a different roast profile on the Sagada Arabica as pour over. The apprentice roaster bungled the turn and therefore had a shortened drying phase and Maillard phase, had to drop early to avoid burning due to temperature...as expected, a little muted on the sweetness and citrus with a distinct bitterness that overshadows things. Glad we pulled the batches and marked them as roast#2. We will mark these down or just put them in the employee "perks" bin. Should make a decent latte.

Your favorite cup near goose hollow?

SuperJoy takes the cake for me right now. Best cappuccino I’ve had. Bold is my favorite place to hang though

Outer Dark Coffee Co. - Tacoma, WA

Always nice to stop by Outer Dark. On this visit there was a quick italiano and a homemade twinkie. They also have a great selection of roasts for sale.
