Random question: Is Hatsune Miku considered part of gothic culture in any way?
I’ve seen Miku portrayed in quite a few darker, gothic, or alternative styles, and some of her outfits and character designs definitely have a gothic aesthetic. That got me wondering whether she has any actual connection to goth culture, or if it’s mainly fans incorporating her into gothic fashion and art.
Would you consider Miku:
Part of goth culture?
More of an alternative/fashion influence?
Completely separate from goth, with some overlap in aesthetics?
Something else entirely?
I’m genuinely curious, especially from people who are familiar with goth culture and the Vocaloid community. 🖤
What do you think?
