A general tryptamine extraction question

Naphta in my country is VERY expensive, For back salts can I use Lantern oil that’s non polar and doesn’t have a lot of chemicals inside? Also it doesn’t remain in the mixture and separates fast (Im not planning to extract with it i want to remove oils, waxes and lipids.)

Clean DMT Profiles from Carefully Selected Phalaris aquatica Specimens

Samples were prepared by soaking plant material in a mixture of aqueous NH₃ and MTBE to isolate relatively nonpolar compounds.

Extracts were applied to unmodified 60 Å non-fluorescent silica plates and developed using a mobile phase consisting of IPA and aqueous NH₃.

With careful specimen selection, some plants produced remarkably clean chromatographic profiles, approaching near single-constituent extracts in which one major alkaloid dominates while others are present only in trace amounts.

Gramine and β-carboline and 5-MeO-DMT content can be minimized through by careful selection.

These samples were preselected for clean profiles and sourced within the r/Phalaris community.

Algo para extraer 5-meo-dmt

Phalaris Acuatica.

Hola volvi de nuevo, estoy he ocupado con otros compuestos y plantas.

Pero bueno!

A trabajar! Mañana les muestro los resultados!

Phalaris aquatica field ID

When I harvest I always have to check the base to see if it’s aquatica or not since in fields it’s easy to confuse a paradoxa or tall annual for Aquatica, Are there any other reliable features of Aquatica other than a red boulbous base?

Potential oral phalaris consumption method?

I realized with the amount of grass I’m growing, I won’t be able to do a large scale extraction so I tried to come up with a potential safe anahuasca recipe.

First of, phalaris grass contains unpredictable levels of 5 meo dmt, which can be deadly when consumed with an MAOI. I read that 5 meo dmt is quite sensitive to high phs, so if a phalaris grass is boiled in water and vinegar, than that liquid with mixed with LARGE amount of lye, that liquid should contain only freebase forms of other tryptamines in the plant. So if someone shakes it up with small portions of olive oil, than mixes said olive oil with a Syrian rue or ayahuasca vine concentrate, they could mix the oil in a dish of their choice and make a sort of edible anahuasca.

I kinda feel like this is too good to be true though.

Is that NMT in my local P. arundinacea?

Hey, i have tested a few local P. arundinaceas.

I struggle with interpreting them. Is the second one having NMT?

Eluent is methanol + nh3.

Taking wet and dry images with 275nm works fine for me.

First DMT clone bioassay of the F2 hybrids

Following the transplanting of 750 F2 hybrids and 10 North African accessions, a preliminary bioassay was conducted on two high-yield DMT clones. These clones were selected from the hybrid plot based on Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) analysis, specifically targeting non-methoxylated alkaloids.

‎- Material & Extraction: The plant material consisted of 8.5g of fresh leaves, which were subsequently dried to a final weight of 2.000g as determined by a 0.001g moisture analyzer. The extraction method involved boiling the dried leaf material twice in distilled water with citric acid, each for 30 minutes. The resulting solution was then basified with NaOH and extracted twice with chloroform. The chloroform pulls were combined and evaporated in a pre-weighed 50mL beaker. The crude extract yield was 18mg from 2g of dry leaf, representing a 0.9% crude yield (w/w dry weight). Based on dose-response, the crude extract was estimated to be approximately 50% DMT, resulting in a net DMT yield of approximately 0.3–0.4% of dry leaf.

‎Pic 5, 6 is the TLC analysis result of one of the two clones tested. Clone sample is lane 7. Lane 4 is MHRB. All lanes on the plate are 25mg dry weight samples soaked in 1ml chloroform + few drops of 25% ammonia. Notice the two largest blue fluorescing spots at the top (DMT RF) are the MHRB and the DMT clone (which based on it's DMT RF fluorecence intensity seems to be roughly 40% that of MHRB DMT spot, which is backed by the practical crude yeild extracted.

‎Pic 3 and 4 are the selected clones being transplanted for clonal propagation.
‎Pic 5 is the 8.5g fresh leaves extracted which gave the 18mg crude freebase.

‎Bioassay Results: The bioassay revealed that the onset, peak, duration, and subjective effects were strikingly similar to that of DMT extracted from MHRB.

To be absolutely sure i pulled out my Stash of MHRB extracted DMT freebase and vaporized some.. it only lead to increased intensity of the same effects i had from the hybrid clones extract. I wish i smoked the clone extract at higher dose all at once... The room was just starting to morph when i reached the peak of the last dose and had no more left to smoke.

I was smoking the. Rude freebase in incremental doses to explore it. Now that i am familiar with these selected clones benign qualities my next harvest i will go for breakthrough.

High-Potency Phalaris aquatica Seeds: Breeding Exchange 2026

After years of dedicated selection and stabilization, we are opening an exchange for our advanced Phalaris aquatica breeding lines.

The Breeding Journey

Year 1: Selection & Isolation

We screened multiple Phalaris species for phytochemical potential. P. aquatica emerged as the clear winner due to its clean profile, high biomass yield, genetic diversity, and vigorous adaptability to various climates. We isolated the top-performing wild specimens to begin our lineage.

Year 2: Genetic Crossing

We acquired 20 distinct wild accessions. After rigorous testing, we identified that only 10% met our potency requirements for DMT and 5-MeO-DMT. These elite individuals were crossed to create our F1 generation.

Year 3: Stabilization & Optimization

Current F1 testing shows a 90% high-yield success rate. Our most potent outliers are now 70% stronger than the highest-testing wild populations. Interestingly we have successfully selected against Gramine; metabolic precursors are now increasingly diverted toward the desired synthesis pathways.

Current Phenotype Groups

We are currently stabilizing three distinct chemotypes:

  1. pure DMT
  2. DMT & 5-MeO-DMT
  3. pure 5-MeO-DMT

Seed Exchange Program (August 2026)

These seeds represent a significant leap in Phalaris breeding—cleaner and more potent than any commercially available or wild seed. I do not sell these seeds, they are too rare.

How to participate:

I am looking for serious collaborators who meet one of the following criteria:

  • The Breeder: You have the equipment and knowledge to continue the selection process (Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) or similar analytical capabilities are required).
  • The Collector: You can source and provide wild-harvested P. aquatica seeds from unique geographical locations to expand our genetic library.

Get in Touch:

If you want to join the project, need assistance setting up TLC for selection, or have wild P. aquatica growing in your region, please reach out via DM.

As best as you can tell, are these Phalaris plants at my work?

Apologies if I’m way off or if identification posts are not welcome here. I know you can’t really confirm with a picture or video but just wondering if it appears to be so. Thanks for any help, cheers.

P. aquatica cv. AUSTRALIAN

Hey guys, i am glad i found this sub.

I was growing P. aquatica cv. AUSTRALIAN for some time now. Does it contain toxic tryptamines? Is it worth testing?

Do partially (Or fully) Dried reeds have tryptamines in may?

I want to harvest phalaris in may but I noticed some reeds are starting to dry (Some fully some have partially or fully dried flowers and leaves)

In any of your 5-meo extracts did you have a problem with beta carbolines dangerously amplifying the effects? (Not in a positive way)

I know MAOIS with 5-meo dmt is basically destroying your mind and potentially give you seratonin syndrome.
