How has the Obsidian back glass aged on your Pixel 9 Pro / 10 Pro?

Hi! I'm considering getting a Pixel 11 Pro and I'm torn between Fog and Obsidian.

I prefer Fog, but I'm worried about the polished frame scratching, so I'm considering Obsidian instead. However, I've never owned a black phone and I'm wondering how the matte black back actually holds up over time.

For those who have had an Obsidian Pixel 9 Pro/9 Pro XL or 10 Pro/10 Pro XL for 6+ months, preferably 1+ year:

Does the back still look uniform?

Any scratches, shiny spots, stains or changes in texture?

Do any marks remain after cleaning?

Do you use a case all the time? Have you noticed marks from dust/debris trapped underneath?

I'm quite careful with my phones and my current light/green Pixel 9 still looks basically new after a lot of use and several case changes. I'm mainly trying to understand whether the black matte finish shows wear that a lighter color wouldn't.

Thanks in advance. :)

Pixel 9 pro screen lines and whitewash

My Pixel 9 Pro has suddenly developed screen lines and the display is becoming increasingly whitewashed. The phone still works, but the screen seems to be getting progressively worse. I kept it switched off for an entire day, but there’s been no improvement.

Am I completely cooked, or would this be covered under Google’s extended screen warranty program? It’s the weekend and the service centre doesn’t open until Monday, and I’m STRESSED. This just happened completely out of the blue.

Google keyboard rambler

I don't know if anyone has talked about it in this subreddit I didn't see anything about it and I don't have any information when I try to look it up. but I was wondering if anyone knows if the rambler featured that Google is going to add is going to be able to be used on the pixel 9 Pro? I don't know if it's a limitation with the Gemini Nano model or if we're going to get it some other time, because I know that the rollout for features is very lackluster in terms of Google.

Pixel 11 €150 Discount Code

Hi! As others have already mentioned, I’d like to purchase the Pixel 11 Pro, but I haven’t received any discount code even though I was subscribed to the newsletter.

If anyone has received this discount code and doesn’t plan on using it, could you please send it to me via private message?

Thanks so much in advance!!

Android 17

Just WOW. After updating to A17 I did a factory reset on my P9PXL and what a difference. Phone hasn't performed this well since it came out of the box. Just wanted to share the excitement!

I just got this thing

switched from an s21 FE (used an iPhone 13mini for the past weeks because my galaxy was falling apart). it was an impulse buy, but I justify it to myself with the camera, hoping that it would reignite my passion for casual photography. and so I paid 500€ for a pristine, like-new, rose quartz or whatever, pixel 9 pro, at something you'd call a pawnshop, but in Europe. it instantly feels vastly superior, being newer and an actual flagship. haven't tested the camera much yet, but my kitchen looks great on this camera. I'm typing this on the battery cycle out of the box, energy saving disabled. and the phone is quite warm pretty much always, with occasional hotness during the sync and app installation phase, or when using the camera.

and that's fine, I get it, it's a slab of glass and metal that is intentionally double-used as a heat dissipator for the processor.

the pixel experience is slowly growing on me, the gboard integration is superb, it feels v smooth. but in some ways it resembles the iPhone I had been using the past weeks. even for it's age, it was incredibly smooth and easy to use, kudos to apple, but the limitations are significant - in terms of UI options and the constant feeling that the device is forcing you to just accept the "apple way" or in Google's case the "pixel way" to do things.

I am a bit naive and didn't research the pixel environment that much prior to acquiring this device. I now ended up realising that for most of my most beloved features from my galaxy, I now need root access for them to work on the pixel...

I can't pop apps out in freeformable windows, I cannot change the font (this one hurts especially much, as on all my Samsung devices I had the same (paid) Helvetica font). I today found out that I will NOT be able to cast Bluetooth to two different pairs of headphones at once anymore. and then there's good lock, which, if you haven't tried it, the best UI customisation app in the world. ever. period.

anyway...

here's the thing itself, taken on my veteran, neglected and resilient s21fe(along with the first ever pic I took on the pixel). I love its looks and feels anyway, but I'm really looking for ways to customise the UI, I hate the bar at the bottom, I hate the inability to actually fully customise the settings in the notification panels. why can't I just have the brightness slider there when opening up the notifications?? why do I have to slide twice for that? any suggestions on NON ROOT customisation options are very welcome.
