Differences between City Explorer ticket and Park Ticket

Sorry if this has been asked and answered before, I just want absolute certainty.

Is the only real difference between the Park Ticket and City Explorer Ticket the Mega Mewtwo raids at the end of the Park time? And maybe the concentrated biomes?

Specifically, can I still get background Mewtwo with only a City Explorer ticket?

Thanks

Beginner question

Hi all! I’m VERY new to Pokémon Go. I watched the show as a kid but never got into card collecting or anything. Now my 5 year old is into Pokémon so we started playing Go together.

I’m only level 25, I don’t battle, and I’ve never participated in a raid (not even sure if I know how to? lol) I’m really only interested in catching Pokémon.

Is it still worth getting a GoFest pass for a player like me?

ETA: I’m a Chicago local and work near Grant Park so I’ll be in the area on Friday anyway 😊

GoFest Chicago sub turned PogoTrade sub? Stickied Post instead?

I realize this may be too late to post now that we're less than a month away from Chicago GoFest but I was initially excited to join this sub for Chicago-specific recommendations, 1st-time GoFest attendee suggestions, or general hype/excitement posts for the event coming up especially when Tokyo's GoFest begins/ends.

What I'm seeing more frequently is trade posts with the same asks that populate the existing PoGoTrade subs but without the moderation or formatting that make those subreddits bearable. (This is not a dig towards this sub's mods, mind you).

At the same time, I want to respect that this is a unique forum for in-person GoFest attendees to prepare trades in advance and that is inherently useful. Could we perhaps create a weekly Trade Post or a stickied post that sub members can use to post/ask/coordinate trades?

I'm excited for this event, it being my first ever in-person PoGo event especially after returning to the game a year ago since 2016, but was just hoping for more from this subreddit than LF/FT posts that exist elsewhere, especially when they are reposted from those exact subreddits.

Going all four days, how many raid passes should I have?

I'm planning to follow raid trains whenever possible while my Go Plus + does the catching. I've accumulated around 250 green passes over the years since I barely ever use those, but I also have the 5425 coin box today which includes 99 green passes. Wondering if I should stock up, I'm willing to pay but just don't want to buy them if I'm not going to use them here.

Does anyone know how many raids people can typically plow through for in-person go fests, if following raid trains for 6-8 hours each day?

Is Grant Park going to be gated with security checkpoints?

Hi all, I noticed the FAQs were updated and noticed that entrances were designated and there is a list of prohibited items, including non-empty water bottles and coolers. Does this mean that there are going to be security checkpoints? I was planning on bringing a cooler to store water and cold packs for my phone.

Does this mean what I think it does?

With the confirmation of no habitats this year, the wording “Pokemon from across your Pokemon Go Pokédex might appear” is making me wonder if spawns this year will consist of the featured pokemon listed plus every single other Pokemon in the game? What do you guys think???

Am I ready?

I have my hotel booked and paid for, tickets of course, parking pre-paid, order a power bank for my phone and one for each of my boys.

Anything else to prepare the best for GoFest?

What kind of weather should I be expecting

I know go fest is in the middle of summer, but i visited Chicago 2 years ago the first week of May and it was way colder than I was expecting. I’m coming from the south so by time it’s the end of Feb its already warmed up here.

Should i expect sun, high uv, high humidity, and high temps?

Or will it most likely be breezy and warm?

Update- Pre Order Shirts

Read last post on my page for context. Can’t copy and paste for whatever reason.

EDIT: For the love of God please read both post. The initial post that is circle does not STATE ANYTHING that customer service clarified. I’m taking it for face value and spending a lot of money on this stuff like all of us so if I can help clarify things, even if it’s at the expense of fending off the incels and mongoloids so be it.

Trading list/ I will be in Sunday morning/9:00 am- 1:00 pm Chicago go fest 2026

I am trying to find the legendaries in the wanted Pokemon list. Kanto articuno, moltres, and Zapdos must be 2019 or older. I am also looking for 2018-2019 Kyogre, rayquazza, and Grouson if the birds are not an option, but mostly looking for the birds. Dacian and Zammazenta must be in their crown forms too. only have about 550K stardust but the bonus for ticket holders cuts the stardust cost in half. The Pokemon I am willing to offer are Mr. Mime and Khangaskan caught in North America, shiny 2023 male detective pikachu, shiny dynamax charizard, shiny witch hat Ursuluna, and others. If you want to friend me so I can get a stardust discount and so I can trade with you, my code is in the images. I do not spoof and will not do offers with spoofers. Will be in grant park most of the time probably. Tot mean tales of transformation background by the way.

Hotel and general reccomendations

Hi everyone this will be my first Pokemon GoFest event and I am so excited to be going this year with my girlfriend. We just got out for summer vacation so we are beginning to plan the trip, but everything we see are super expensive, especially the hotels, and since we’re still students, don’t really have the cash to go crazy overboard for a 3-day trip.

So we were just looking for general advice on not exactly cheap but affordable hotels (for us the high end is high 100-200 a night), preferably near Grant park or millennium park as were planning to adventure around those sides of Chicago (could be further if it isn’t an unreasonable travel), and also planning to go to the zoo and the beaches if possible also.

I saw the unofficial guide have food recs, and we both love trying out new food so will definitely give this a go, but am looking for recommendations from people.

We would also love to visit a shopping mall to pick up some souvenirs and clothes, so if there’s a good mall nearby please recommend.

Lastly, not sure if this is the right place for this, but our budget isn’t that high as you expect of students so please be gentle with our wallets!

Pre-Order T-shirts

This will be my first go fest and I’m nervous. I just saw on the website that the item I already paid for is available while supplies last….

I’m going Sunday at the last available slot. I really don’t want to have to go through a tedious refund process if even that. Any advice?

I was told the event is open access to the city, so can I stroll up to the table even the day before on Saturday?

Edit: also I have armored mewtwo for trade.

Updated Trade List! :)

Thanks to everyone who has been super generous and helpful with trades! I’m crossing off a bunch from my non Pikachu costumed shiny living dex!

With what’s remaining I’m mainly looking for the more “rare” costumes

•Bulb/Char/Squirt
•Pony’s
•Slowpoke
•Gengars
•Cubone
•Electabuzz/Kid
•Snorlax
•Ziggy
•Sabeyle

But of course I’m happy to look at/entertain any offers!

Also: Most of my availability left is for Sunday (or if you’re staying extra days!)
