NEED FOR A MENTOR URGENT

Hi everyone! I am here to look for a mentor. I need someone experienced in coding web applications because I am planning to do one. I am literally a beginner, and I need someone who could guide me through the process.

The reason I am asking is because I have a project at school, and it requires a mentor. I need around 3 sessions, so can anyone find some time to help me 😔🙏 Right now, I have a prototype, I am using Antigravity as the main program for my web app.

What I need is your feedback, some advices and what I can use, like maybe some useful github repositories, and so on. I need someone urgently, requirements are:

  1. Available (being busy is ok, but please do not ignore me 😔)
  2. Speaks English or Russian
  3. My timezone is GMT +5, so we will meet up at around 7.00 pm based on my local time on weekdays, and almost anytime on weekends.
  4. Experience in coding/vibecoding, experience in mentoring would be nice as well

Thanks in advance, feel free to ask me any questions

looking for a team

I been building a pretty big backend project and now I’m tryna find people that wanna help shape it early.

The whole platform runs locally on your PC/server and can be shared with friends or communities through tunnels or hosting methods. The idea is giving people full control over their own communities instead of relying on giant centralized platforms.

The platform got kinda like 3 sections combined together:
• a developer/project side where people can post updates, work together, upload stuff, manage projects and bots
• a community/chat side with servers, channels, realtime messaging, moderation, permissions, events and all that
• a social side where users got profiles, pfps, followers, posts, feeds, comments and community interaction

Users got accounts, profiles, followers, moderation systems, bots, permissions, realtime events, uploads, admin systems and more already being worked on.

Right now we focusing mostly on the backend/core systems:
• authentication
• realtime sockets
• API endpoints
• moderation systems
• anti raid/security systems
• bot engine
• permissions/scopes
• uploads
• local hosting
• server/community systems

Eventually I wanna turn it into a full desktop app and mobile apps too.

This project is open source and I seriously don’t care if you experienced or still learning. If you interested in:
• backend
• frontend
• UI design
• mobile
• bots/plugins
• realtime systems
• self hosted/community ideas

then hit me up.

I’m mainly looking for people that think the vision is cool and wanna build something big from the start 🙌

20yo looking for people who build infra-level stuff — API, databases, scraping/search for AI

hey, i'm 20 and been building infra-level stuff for about 3 years now — mostly on the scraping and search side of ai. think large-scale data pipelines, api architecture, database design for search systems.

looking for other builders who work at that level and want to bounce ideas, collab, or just have an accountability group where we actually ship. not looking for "idea guys" — want people who code.

what are you working on?

16yo backend dev – building a self-hosted RAG engine for codebases. Does this make sense?

I'm 16, been coding for 5 years, focused on backend for the last 2. Stack: Java Spring, Python, Docker, RabbitMQ, Postgres. Learning C and electronics on the side.

The idea: drop a GitHub repo, a bunch of markdown notes, or lecture slides into the system, and get a local AI assistant that understands the whole thing contextually — not just grep, but semantic retrieval with agents and MCP integrations.

The differentiator: fully self-hostable. Zero data leaves your machine. Cursor and Copilot are great, but they're cloud-only and closed. There's a real gap for devs and students who want this on private codebases or offline.

Architecture (if you care):

- Java Spring — data ingest, auth, user management

- Python FastAPI — AI/RAG engine

- RabbitMQ for async, Postgres, S3-compatible storage

- React frontend (last priority)

Plan: start open source (AGPL), validate with real users, add a hosted paid tier if anyone cares.

Honest questions:

  1. Is this already solved well enough that building it is pointless?
  2. If you were me, what vertical would you focus first — devs, students, or something else?
  3. If the idea is bad, what would you build with this stack?
