Missed housing application deadline incoming freshman looking for a roommate to split a $649/mo place

Hey everyone! I'm an incoming freshman at Purdue and I completely missed the deadline for the housing application, so I'm scrambling to figure out off-campus living now.

I found a 2 bed/1 bath unit that's $649/month, but that price is only available if I have a roommate to split it with. It's about a mile from campus, so very walkable. If anyone else is in the same situation and wants to sign a lease together, I'd love to talk!

I'd prefer someone who's also a freshman or sophomore, but honestly I just really need a roommate at this point.

If you're interested, DM me your Instagram username, and we can chat more details!

Edit: Also looking at a 4 bed 2 bath place if you're interested

‼️PRICE DROP‼️to $1200/month, looking to transfer my studio lease by Monday (6/29), willing to negotiate✨

Lease Transfer Available!

  • August 2026 - May 2027
  • Studio
  • 20 min walk to campus, garage parking available
  • In-unit washer/dryer
  • Balcony with a nice view and good sunlight☀️
  • $1200/month but willing to negotiate

More detail:

I'm looking to transfer my lease to someone for August 2026 - May 2027. It's a studio apartment at The Landing (previously Wabash Landing). Since the Landing is offering studios now for $1563/month, you'd be saving $363 by taking my lease transfer! Also because it's a lease transfer, the lease ends in May when usually their leases end in July.

I really enjoyed living here but am needing more space and a new environment. The building is quiet and located close to campus and downtown Lafayette. There's also a bus stop right outside and a parking garage. Management and maintenance are very helpful and quick to respond. My specific unit gets lots of light (great for plants and humans) and has a nice view! There's photos and extra info about the building here: [https://www.apartments.com/the-landing-apartments-west-lafayette-in/d53qckh/](https://www.apartments.com/the-landing-apartments-west-lafayette-in/d53qckh/)

how to find a temporary place to stay from August 16 to the 20

Hi everyone,

I am an incoming Purdue graduate student, and I am looking for advice regarding temporary housing before the start of the fall semester.

My apartment lease does not begin until August 20, but my graduate program requires me to attend orientation and other events beginning on August 17. As a result, I am looking for a place to stay from August 16–20.

I initially looked into local hotels, but the Union Club Hotel is beyond my budget, and several of the other nearby hotels appear to be fully booked for those dates.

Does anyone have recommendations for affordable short-term housing options or other resources that incoming students commonly use in this situation?

Thank you in advance for any suggestions or advice.

Studio Lease Takeover Beginning of August 2026-July 2027

Hi, I am looking for someone to take over my lease renewal for my studio apartment in West Lafayette! There is a bus stop across the street from the parking lot that takes you directly to campus, or it is a ~10 minute walk and even shorter bike ride. About 10 minutes away from Krannert and Rawls. Includes full sized bed, table, two chairs, fridge, microwave, oven, stove. Also has a walk in closet, with a laundry room a couple doors down. Rent is $910 a month plus electricity and internet. I have had no issues with neighbors/noise, and I personally love living without a roommate lol. Maintenance requests are quickly responded to and I like the apartment management team. DM if interested in my close to campus studio!

(Reposted because I accidentally deleted the last one - whoops!)

Looking for a short-term sublease (male) - West Lafayette/Indianapolis | July onwards under $900

Hello everyone,

I recently graduated and am looking for a room or sublease in either the West Lafayette or Indianapolis area starting in July.

I’m currently job searching, so I’m only looking for a short-term housing arrangement while I figure out my next steps. My budget is $700/month or less.

I’m flexible on the length of the stay. Whether you have a room available for a month, the summer, or a few months, I’d be interested in hearing about it.
I’m clean, responsible, respectful, and easy to live with.

If you have a room available or know of any opportunities, please feel free to message me.

Thanks

When is the housing and dorm info going to be released for incoming freshmen for fall admission?

My mom says freshmen are already receiving their dorm assignments. I'm not in the Early Start or whatever it's called, but I am in BGR. Crossposting this to r/Purdue as well
