Kazakhstan just got 1,900 AI film submissions from 90+ countries
This is actually pretty interesting.
Astana AI Film Festival in Kazakhstan has received around 1,900 submissions from more than 90 countries. The biggest number of entries came from the US, followed by India, with Kazakhstan itself in third place.
The festival is focused specifically on films made with AI, not just movies that used AI for a few visual effects.
There is also a $1 million prize pool, with $450,000 going to the winner of the main competition.
The theme this year is “The Future Worth Living In”, and films have to be between 3 and 10 minutes long.
The festival itself is happening in Astana this October.
Honestly, I'm curious to see what kind of films make it into the final selection. AI filmmaking is moving ridiculously fast.
