Repairshop says the radio (rcd330 plus rear usb mod) is causing the battery to die

I have a 2010 passat b6 and the radio has been installed for a year, it has never given any problems with the battery, and 2 weeks ago the battery died. The official vw repairshop said it was the alternator and replaced it and a week after that the battery was dead again. They say it's because of the radio, is it really posible that it has taken all this time to drain the battery. The battery is also from last year, about 2 months older than the radio and they say it can't recharge because the radio has damaged it's ability to recharge wich in my opinion makes no sense. Does someone know if the radio can really be the issue after all this time, it was bought on ddren website and it's an rcd330 plus with the rear usb mod.

RCD360 Turned off and won’t switch on

Hi all, ignorantly got an RCD360 thinking it was an RCD 330, I plugged it into my MK5 gti, and it turned off after about 20 minutes and will not turn back on, I was told by the seller I need a canbus gateway but I don’t want to deal with getting it coded and everything.

Has this ever happened to anyone? Can a canbus simulator fix this? Or am I better off just returning it?

Hi everyone. Pulling out whats left of my hair here...

Back story. Bought a unmolested 2014 Polo BlueGT 6c. Being JDM, the vehicle is MQB platform but the stereo wiring is still all PQ. The car came with its original VW Clarion Headunit which i personally removed and in the meantime fitted a Essgoo/eonon type stereo which works fine. (Switching off when key is turned off, steering wheel functions ok ,reverse gear selection switching camera screen on ok) Sound quality and connection has been a bit meh so finally decided to buy a genuine noname 187b (we are a android houselhold)

Upon install. It is a direct fit. No intermediate harness required. 187b powers on. Plug your wire and phone and all works. But none of the can signals seem to get through to the headunit. So no switch off. No steering wheel buttons. No reverse gear engaged.

My question here is. Has anyone come across this issue and its resolution? Im hoping someone will be like its just gateway long coding and all will be well. But if anyone has had success? Help would be massively appreciated as the android units are just busy for no reason so would like to have a rcd330 and be done with it.

This forum is the same headunit that has been removed to have fitted the now temp essgoo. If I can avoid ripping out a whole loom and finding a used UK one, id rather not!

Japanese Import Carplay installation?

I have a Japanese Import VW Polo 2014 and it has a screen that is in english but sat nav is still in japanese and it also has reverse cameras and steering wheel controls. Does anyone have any ideas of what the cost might be to install wireless carplay, whether that be a whole new screen or installed onto current screen? I want to ideally keep the reverse camera and wheel controls. Someone told me that the screen I have currently is not the factory one so there may be more work than it seems? Thanks in advance

Is this an original RCD 330 or a replica (RCD 360/880)? Need help identifying.

I found this head unit for sale locally for around €100, and the seller claims it's an original unit.

Based on image, is this actually a real RCD 330 (maybe some specific version?), or is it one of those modified RCD 360 / RCD 880 replicas?

Also, is €100 a good price for this specific model if everything works? Thanks in advance!

RCD330 No Name for sale - $160

I have a RCD330 I’m no longer using that I want to sell. Comes with trunk handle camera kit (quad lock plug, add a fuse, harness). Will also include fakra double to single adapter. Camera has never been installed. Head unit was used in a 2015 Passat TDI for 1 month. Can also include an updated canbus for an extra $50. Unit is updated to the most current FW.

If this isn’t allowed, my bad! I didn’t see anything in the rules about selling…

What adapter for a 2013 Beetle?
