r/RasAlKhaimah

Does anyone else feel like Ras Al Khaimah has so much potential but still feels empty when it comes to things to actually do?

I’m not saying there’s nothing at all. We have bowling, some football and badminton courts, cafés, malls and a few spots here and there. But for such a huge emirate that’s growing, it still feels like people don’t really have enough places to connect, relax, enjoy hobbies, or just escape from the stress of daily life.

I honestly feel like RAK needs more life and more spaces that bring people together.
Places with music nights, gaming lounges, art workshops, pottery, skating areas, indoor activity spaces, outdoor parks, picnic spots, community events, creative hubs, affordable entertainment for families and young people… things that make people excited to go out again.

Especially for kids and teenagers. So many of them are spending their entire lives online because there aren’t enough healthy social activities around them in real life. And I know this might sound harsh, but I genuinely feel like we need more meaningful entertainment and community spaces instead of seeing massage centers opening everywhere.

RAK is beautiful. It has mountains, beaches, amazing weather in winter, and so much space. It could honestly become one of the best places in the UAE for lifestyle and community if more focus was put on experiences and not just buildings.
I can’t be the only person who feels this way.

What do you think RAK is missing the most?
What kind of places would actually make you want to go out more often here?

RAK rental market

I'm doing some research on the RAK rental market and am hoping people here can help.

  1. What security deposits are like in RAK?
  2. Is the RAK Tenancy Contract Registration easy? Who normally does it?
  3. Is it true that the tenancy registration costs 5% of the total rent amount?
  4. How much are typical security deposits?

Ras Al-Khaimah

Hi everyone, 👋

I recently moved from Abu Dhabi to Ras Al Khaimah, and honestly, I’m finding it a bit hard to adjust and meet new people here.

I’m interested in activities like sports, gym, hiking, coffee meetups, or any kind of social gatherings.

Are there any groups, events, or people interested in connecting?

If yes, please feel free to message me 🙏

Thanks!

Hi everyone, I work with UsergyAI, a company that runs paid voice and language data projects.

We are currently looking for bilingual speakers for a paid remote voice recording project. This is not a referral link, app install, gambling offer, crypto offer, or survey wall. It is a real voice recording task for people who can naturally switch between two languages in conversation.

1. Ways to earn

You earn by participating in a short paid voice recording task.

The project involves:

• Speaking naturally in a bilingual conversation

• Switching between your main language and English, or another listed second language

• Following a simple conversation scenario

• Submitting a short screening recording first so we can check language fit and audio quality

If selected, we will share the exact recording instructions before the paid task.

2. Time required and estimated pay

The first screening step should take around 5 minutes.

If selected for the paid recording task, you can work flexible hours per week depending on your availability.

Estimated pay: Upto 35 USD per accepted recording task depending on the language pair

3. Cashout options and minimum withdrawal

Payment method: PayPal / Wise

Minimum withdrawal: No minimum withdrawal.

4. Available countries and languages

This is open to people globally, but we are mainly looking for native or highly fluent speakers for these language pairs:

• Spanish and English

• French and English

• Portuguese and English

• German and English

• Dutch and English

• Swedish and English

• Finnish and English

• Vietnamese and English

• Malay and English

• Tamil and English

• Arabic and English

• Hebrew and English

• Catalan and English

• Spanish and Catalan

• Spanish and Basque

• French and German

• French and Arabic

Priority countries include Spain, France, Portugal, Brazil, Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Vietnam, Malaysia, India, UAE, Israel, Canada, and other countries where these languages are spoken.

You can still apply if you live elsewhere but speak one of the listed language pairs naturally.

Apply here: https://tally.so/r/yPeQBB

If you have questions, feel free to comment and I will answer what I can.

What’s the fastest way to get a driving license in Rak?

Anyone knows how the “one try” process works or the best way to pass quickly?

Which driving school do you recommend, how much does it cost, and how long does it usually take?

Would appreciate any real experiences or tips. Thanks!

Testing an Eid cookie cake concept — how did we do?

We’ve been working on a new concept in honour of our host country: an Eid cookie cake.

It’s made with two layers of chocolate chip cookie, filled and decorated with buttercream, then finished in white and gold tones for Eid.

We wanted it to feel celebratory, elegant and a little different from the usual cake options.

How did we do? Would this be something you’d order or gift for Eid?

Experienced EA in Dubai fighting for her life in this job market 😭

TL;DR: looking for an executive assistant position in the UAE.

Okay so at this point I’m coming to Reddit because LinkedIn has humbled me enough.

I’m a born and raised UAE girl “ yes I’m also fluent in Arabic “ with years of experience as an Executive Assistant/admin support person calendars, operations, travel, clients, organizing chaos, fixing problems before they become problems… all that fun stuff.

My last role got hit with the whole AI/restructuring situation, and ever since then I’ve been applying NONSTOP across Dubai/UAE with barely any luck.
And before anyone says “everyone’s hiring” … where 😭 because why does every job have 700 applicants within 2 hours?? Between the market being insanely competitive right now and everything happening globally/the war situation affecting businesses and hiring, it genuinely feels rough out here lately.

I’ve tailored my CV more times than I can count, spoken to recruiters, applied through LinkedIn, Indeed, company websites, probably carrier pigeons next. Still fighting.

At this point I honestly just need a job ASAP. I’m open to EA roles, admin, operations, office coordination, anything in that lane.
If anyone knows companies hiring, decent recruiters, or has leads/advice, I’d seriously appreciate it 🫶

Urgently need a foster for this mama and her two newborns!!

Hi all, I’m currently fostering a mama cat and her babies and so I cannot take this other mama cat in sadly.

Shes one of many cases that need a foster, and I’ve been trying to find one but nobody ever reaches out to help.

Please, any help would be appreciated!! Another mama cat already lost 4 of her newborns. It’s getting super hot outside and the conditions are not suitable at all on the streets.

Please help even by boosting the post or sharing with people who might be able to support!!

Searching for a studio to rent in Ras Al Khaimah under 30K AED Yearly

Searching for place to rent (studio or anything bigger than 450 sq ft). Peaceful, basic amenities nearby, furnished, with a balcony, preferably with a gym within a building or nearby, running/walking track nearby preferred, diverse/balanced community, under 30K AED yearly - can be extended a bit if the property and location is good.
Tried searching on property finder, etc but mostly listings are of Al Marjan/Al Hamra etc. which I have heard has ongoing construction.
So any suggestions for the place, locality, building, etc or where to search would really be appreciated!
Thanks in Advance! ❤️

Real struggle turned to an opportunity to help others

5 years ago took my family on a vacation in another city

Back then my 2 years old son felt very bad at night

Took him to a hospital there

Because they didnt have any history for his records they gave him wrong medication which made him way worse and had to take him to the ICU in a different hospital and stayed there for 2 weeks

I would say that was the worst 2 weeks of my life

Seeing my son in a bed with all wires and sensors it was like a horror movie to me

Thank God he got better and we discharged from the hospital

With more than 300 pages of analysis to hive it to his doctor in his usual hospital for follow ups

That all could've been avoided if the first hospital had his health records

Fast forward 4 years

When my son needed to go to a hospital in another country

They had to make alot of analysis before they take any action and also if we have all the history organized in one place this would be elemenated and the support will be way faster

And in my limited circle i found out that it is a real struggle

Some people stuck with one health care provider only because they have their records

Even if they are not happy with the service

That was my motivation to build docdroid.ai

An app that will make you in control.

Giving you the freedom to move around with peace of mind

You have ur reports

You have ur trends

U r the owner of ur health records not health care providers.

Check it out and please share with me ur feedback

Docdroid.ai

Note, i intentionally didnt correct my spelling and didnt use ai to polish my post

This could be a move we can adopt to show the human touch in a world of ai posts with no soul

Looking for a job

Hey everyone,

I’m currently an architecture student and I’ve been struggling financially lately. I’m trying to find any part-time work to help me pay off a debt of around 4,742 AED, which has honestly been weighing heavily on me and affecting my focus in university.

I’m open to different kinds of work, not only architecture-related. I can help with cleaning, childcare/daycare assistance, admin work, tutoring, deliveries, café work, or anything else someone might need help with. I’m hardworking, respectful, and willing to learn quickly.

I’m still studying architecture, so I also have a portfolio and CV that I can send if needed.

If anyone knows of opportunities, needs help themselves, or can point me in the right direction, I’d really appreciate it.

Thank you.
